Cracking start for Utd. 😂
Hopefully Pogba and Ole will stay for the rest of the season.
Absolutely ****ing woeful!
We seem unwilling to put some decent crosses in which means everything has to go through the middle and against well organised, deep sitting teams there is almost no space.
Had issues through the middle last year but since Fernandes has come we don't vary it up enough. Teams worked it out in the last few games
Can't see the value in keeping Pogba around for the 2 to 3 good performances a year though unless there are no serious offers in for him.
The most entertaining thing about that was Sky pointing out that Zaha definitely didn’t ever ‘meet’ David Moyes’s daughter as a Patrice Evra just claimed 😂
Fair play to him though. Patrice just expressed pretty accurately most United fans opinion of how the club is being run.
Meanwhile, in League One news, let's have a full national lockdown and end the season now....🚜
Some canny business by Liverpool I think - Alcantara is a bit of an upgrade on Henderson, Milner and Wijnaldum, if he stays fit! Jota too is a good one as cover for Mane and Salah and probably needed as Minamino has struggled.
Finding this whole handball rule pretty incomprehensible and far removed from say a Thierry Henry or a Maradona hand pass into the goal.
Found myself agreeing with Gary Neville this evening and needed a good wash afterwards.
The handball rule was worst last year, this year they have tried to sort it out but still failed to really get it right.
Despite giving away the pen Thiago looks great. Liverpool were dominant today even before the red. That's two supposed challengers this year looking decidedly ropy already.
Good game between Leicester and Burnley for the neutral.
Even better for a Leicester fan
Top of the league, feels good to be back 😉
WTF? The Baggies are 3 nil up against Chelski at half time?! 😳
After an insane United game, where the post was our man of the match
After an insane United game, where the
postreferee was our man of the match
Pfft! He was no Mike Dean.
I don’t know how you can say that anyway when no Brighton players were booked for their blatant diving
First two games, United get shafted at home by Palace and need ten minutes of extra time to beat Brighton who by all accounts, played them off the park. Bodes well for a good season. As long as Ole and Pogba stay. Love it.
Good to see the rebirth of Fergie-time though eh, Bravissimo? 😃
It's next-level Fergie time when a pen is awarded after the final whistle, in the 10th minute of 5 minutes of stoppage time.
Also, let's all laugh at Chelsea (and hope their comeback doesn't work out). They're going to be entertaining this season but you'd think they might try and learn to do defending at some point.
Two games in and you’re already masturbating while imagining the days of Ferguson urging a bulging vein faced Keane to scream at referees. It’s not a good sign binners. You need to look to the future. It could be your year.
Nah. It’s not going to be our year.
Just amusing to see that Ole is channeling the spirit of Fergie to take us into previously unchartered waters...
After the final whistle 😃
Normally you feel that way until you put three wins together...stick with it man. Ole is the way forward. Don’t sack him yet.
How long do you think Lampard has to mould all the new signings into something resembling a cohesive unit? Even though he’s a club legend I don’t Abramovich will hesitate to fire him, if they’re not making progress.
Oh dear. Jose isn’t happy.
It looks like handball decisions are going to be providing this season’s controversy
yeah if you get a freekick where the wall is in the box, go for the balls VAR will give you a pen as players defend their wedding tackle 😉
What a finish from Vardy! A Zola-esque cheeky back heal
3-1 to Leicester!! 😳
I stuck a few quid on Leicester as 9/1 odds seemed daft
Remember how Chelsea, Man U, Man City were going to run Liverpool much closer this year - how's that working out already? 😛
3 penalties to Leicester! It definitely seems like VAR and the lack of crowds is helping the smaller/less successful teams, like Leicester and Man Utd.
I can only assume VAR is being operated by UEFA - in order to make sure cash strapped upstarts, City of Manchester City dont rock the boat too much.
There’s been some absolutely bonkers results so far this season, but that’s right up there. City’s defence were seriously competing for being worse than ours who went AWOL at Brighton yesterday
Three penalties weren’t down to VAR, they were down to City’s defence getting repeatedly skinned by Vardy and Maddison
I expect that Liverpool v Arsenal will be 8-5 or something daft tomorrow
The template to beat city is well known now, most teams still need a bit of luck, but they know it is doable. Pep needs to show he can adapt. Funny thing is he himself say's he needs to earn a new contract, it is almost as if he is urging the club to be less in awe of him and give some constructive criticism.
2 of the penalties were dodgy as **** though, the bottom half of the internet would have gone into meltdown if Sterling had gone down for those 2.
2 of the penalties were dodgy as **** though
Well, of course.
Every one of those penalties was absolutely nailed on. You can’t have an argument against any of them. It was down to defenders getting skinned.
It’s not like any were dodgy handballs like Spuds today or Lindelofs last weekend.
Speaking of which: hats of to Steve Bruce for saying in his post match press interview that it was never a penalty and the new rule is ridiculous
2 of the Leicester pens were soft but not that dodgy. Some great goals in that game also though, especially loved Mahrez clean finish on the first one.
An unbelievable strike from Mahrez. No keeper is ever going to get anywhere near a shot like that. But the Vardy backheel was on another level. Just having the awareness to even attempt that
I remember watching Zola do something similar and thinking WTF?!!! How has he just done that?!!
We’re 3 weeks in to the season and there’s been some truly sublime skill on display already
Quote of the day about Suarez going to Athletico:
Striker partner Diego Costa, added: "He is very good, one of us can do the fighting and the other can do the biting."
Haha, that’s genius!
Great quote.
Really does not take much to put Vardy on the floor. Watched the game and it as more about fooling the City defenders.
You'd have hoped the introduction of VAR would stop such soft penalities being given and help force attackers to try and stay on their feet a bit more, now an attacker just needs to get goal side of a defender and slow down slightly to create contact and then go down. Instead VAR is being used for stupid handball decisions.
Good discussion on MOTD about this ridiculous new handball rule nonsense. It’s FIFA that is responsible for the new rule, to bring the premiership into line with the rest of Europe.
Just what we need. The rules being made to bring us into line with Serie A, which nobody has watched since the 90’s on account of it being so spirit-crushingly tedious.
It needs to stop. The handball decisions bring given are absolutely ridiculous. You might as well insist that all defenders have to have their arms amputated
Talking about the penalties.
Yep. I’m afraid watching the likes if Klinsman in the 90s pushed me towards rugby. If you play the game it takes more than a cursory brush to knock down a 12 stone athlete.
What’s going on? Everton top and looking brilliant under Carlo. I couldn’t believe it when they got him in
And Leeds holding Citeh, which I had a few quid on at 6/1 😃
Lot of chat about Cavani heading to Utd. Still no centre half or left back though 🤷♂️.
Great game between Leeds and Man City - we are definitely back in the Premier League with exciting performances already against the two favourites for the title. I think we will have a big influence on who gets into the Champions League places and should easily cement our position in mid table if our performances continue in the same manner! MOT ALAW
Lot of chat about Cavani heading to Utd
We all know how this goes at United. We’re signing Sancho. We’re signing Dembele. We’re signing Cavani. Ronnie is coming back. We’re signing Messi. We’re signing Bale.
In the end, Dan James turns up from Swansea.
Same old, sale old. It ceased to be funny a long time ago
Woodward is a ****ing muppet! How on earth that idiot is still taking us through the same tired all routine once again defies belief. It’s embarrassing
Too late to edit binners, looks like they did actually manage to sign Cavani. 🙂
Did anyone see Pep's press conference after the Leeds game? He really doesn't seem to care any more.
Without being to cocky, i'm not sure a 33 year old who was let go is the answer. Sure he was class and will score some goals without doubt, but he's a bit older, slower, etc.
