So apparently I need to get on with the spare room. I used an industrial sander on the floors in the other bedrooms,but want to do something different.Good floorboards,nails punched and wood filled. Odd splash of old paint here and there,but no varnish. So do I need to sand the whole thing or can I put white paint down and then a clear coat to protect it? Do I need to use "proper" white floor paint or will a good varnish protect ordinary emulsion?
