Someone on here mentioned the film Napoleon Dynamite film here in another post which got me thinking. It's on tele this week and in the listings info it said it was released in 2004. I still consider this a new film and when I see something like this which reminds me of how much time has passed and how much more quickly I am perceiving the passage of time I tend to get the fear. I mean, Christmas just seemed like last month and when I saw that the milk's use by date was May 4 I remembered the last time I saw the milk's use-by date being May 4, further reminding me of that overused 'May the Fourth' Star Wars pun and that didn't seem a year ago. I am 35.

I am totally with you on this.

It doesn't seem 5 minutes since starting my MSc and thinking 'a whole year! this is going to drag by'. 20 months later already...

33.

I believe one reason is because as we get older we are exposed to less new experiences so therefore have less markers along the passage of time to punctuate things.

It can proven that time speeds up mathematically:
period of time / age i.e.
6months / 2years = 1/4 when your older 6months / 30years = 1/10 and obviously a ten is a lot smaller (quicker) than a quarter so time is speeding up.

its a age thing.i belive you tend to "lounge around" alot mor in your teen and twentys, when you hit the thirtys you start to "pull your finger out" more ie buy house, renovate house have kids, work more to pay for all this, worry more about all this etc etc. so time passes faster as you have more on your mind.
well thats what i recon anyhow...

Substitute 1/60 for 1/10 and I agree! ๐Ÿ˜‰

When you were 10, a year was a 10th of your life. Now it's a 35th. Apparently that's why it seems to accelerate.

Which leads to the famous quote 'whoosh - what was that? - that was your life, mate.'
