Need to return an iPod to Argos but dont have the box, would like it to look as well looked after as possible so wondered has anyone got a box floating around for one they dont need? Ideally a first gen box.

Not having original packaging does not effect your statutory rights.

I try to tell this to my wife every time she tries to insist on keeping every single box for every single thing we have ever bought.

careful now...... I've just had to put some apple goods into repair and they identified it as mine from the packaging rather than the item itself. Fine for me as the box had been kept as it was handy for carrying the machine around, it also wasn't a warrentee issue.

But returning what appears not to be the item you bought would look less good, as slippery slick apple products don't flaunt their serial numbers, but the packaging does

Yes, but all Apple products do have their serial numbers on them, flaunting or not. So the box is not necessary.

Why does it have to look better? If it isn't working it isn't working. I don't understand why you need it.

Unless of course you are selling it on Ebay really and are trying to con us into feeling sorry for you... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Is a 1st gen ipod touch not out of warranty now anyway, lunch date for the 2nd gen was september last year, so 12months is more than up unless you bought an extended warranty I guess....

I do have a 1 gen ipod touch box (16gb) going spare, I'm in Manchester if that helps...

The warranty is from the date you register it. Not when you had lunch ๐Ÿ˜‰

Damn typo's, get me every time!!!

Sorry I thought it was from purchase date? Otherwise could you not just register it a year later when something goes wrong?
