One of the lakes local to me (Thorpe, Surrey) opened this weekend for Open Water swimming - just checked on the Serpentine web site and it's 9C there - too chilly for me. Has anybody braved it this year yet?

Yes, but that was in Jamaica last month. ๐Ÿ™‚

My local outdoor swimming club in Bristol has a group of hardy women who've been swimming throughout the winter.

A friend has been swimming regularly at a pond in London, all the way through winter, even when there's ice on it.

I went surfing last week and the water was 9 degrees. I had a thicker wetsuite than a typical swimming suite, but it seemed fine

Swimming in Cornwall last week. Sometimes skins, sometimes with the suit. Fresh but not too bad for March.
