Okay, since we're updating....

I've been going with a girl for just over two weeks now. Got a lot in common, fellow engineer type etc and we're even going away together this coming weekend for the next round of the enduro here. Though once she sees my bike skillz, she'll most likely leg it.

I've come to the conclusion that i will never find the ideal woman online.

So i am now planning to hang around in the cafes at various trail centers and attempt to pick up a woman that way.......

I can post my itinerary here if any of the more adventurous ladies of STW want to apply for the position??? 😉

Well... while we are updating...

I put a profile on POF after reading this thread, back in September / October. In the initial barrage of messages, two stood out as possibly rational mtbing guys. I arranged to meet the first, and shelved the second for later...

It was a couple of months later, after a few failed dates, that I remembered guy no2 and I got back in touch. He was still about, so we arranged to meet over New Year. It has been an 'interesting' few months 🙄 , not quite as straight forward as the movies make it out to be, but 5 months on and we're still together, things have settled down and I am really very happy 8)

So to anyone thinking of giving up - you never know, someone could be just about to get in touch...

Well, online dating was a mixed bag for me - met someone really nice on fitness singles, one date but seeing as I was, at the time homeless I had a lot of both literal and metaphorical baggage that was too much of a risk for her.

That was the best thing that could have happened really, whilst I was briefly of no fixed abode I went to spend a few days with an old uni friend and we're now approaching 6 months of awesome. She's a horseriderist but despite only having ridden a bike 5 times in about 10 years is thinking of entering an enduro after seeing the one at gisburn.

In my experience, horseriderists make quite good MTBers! (after a horse, which lets face it, gets a spook on and bolts into a hedge when it sees a leaf / twig / plastic bag it doesn't like the look of, a mountain bike is childs play.... 😉

'While we're updating' . . . . Sounds like we are collectively punching above our weight - not that I'm 'punching' anything!

I thought for a moment that Houns was a redheaded model.

Interesting about the horse riding thing....this girl I'm seeing rides horses and I've convinced her into a spin out on the bikes at some point....if she's quicker than me, I'm out.

Tinder seems to be populated by three types of women - chavvy duck face types, single mums and horse riders. And at least 50% off them describe themselves as "curvy". I think I am going to forget women and stick to riding my bike.

My big date happened last night. We had met a couple of times before it actually, but this was the proper one I invited her to originally. We went to see a band at a cool bar and it was quite an experience! It would've been rather strange if it had actually been the first time we'd met - mainly because the band was so intense! Anyway, we got on great, but I don't think there's a big romance in the offing. Hopefully will still be able to see bands together as we share an odd taste in music 🙂

Walk, eat, drink, chat - be a gentleman.
I ride bikes, she rides horses AND a real bike - with an engine & everything...

I must've got this all mixed up. I thought this was a thread for guys waiting on their new bikes to be delivered, of which they have spent hours online procrastinating over which top tube looks best in what colour and then the first ride feedback and if they have a future together...

I'm back on the scene. Like a very tired machine!
I promised myself 6 moths off but then... created a Match profile just to 'have a look' and ended up chatting, exchanging numbers and well, we'll see.
Well, surroundedbyhills, I'm glad to see our mutual friend is not on the site any more. I'm hoping it's because she found someone nice. I checked that site again and there is ONE eligible lady within 75 miles. I spent my Paypal balance on Match instead.
I'm still holding out for a mountain biking lady or at least a cyclist of some sort. I cycle 5 days a week and the other two I'm either fixing bikes or thinking about buying bike bits so I need someone who understands.

Well, after getting unceremoniously dumped on Valentines Day, and then ranting about it on here (ahem), I had a break from 'The Dating Game', and I'm having another go.

Wish me luck.

Well,

There's trouble in paradise here.

Despite her new saddle being a hit, apparently her wheels are too heavy and I'm not giving her what she needs in the "bouncy bouncy" department*

*I'm supposed to find her a pretty FS frame, in a colour that she likes for <£300, oh ans in XS too...

@deveron53 - that seems like a while ago now, I had the distinct feeling that I was playing second fiddle IYKWIM.
