Yeah DC-8, I too did think that it was a 707F too.

One of those used to be the first plane into Heathrow every morning (before the airport started operating) bringing vegetables in from Africa for the shop formerly owned by Dame Shirley Porter. I used to think it was a B52 coming in it was loud.

Bet it weren't as loud as these that roared over my house earlier this afternoon! Same amount of engines, but with extra cool! And I just love the "howl" they make as they throttle back ๐Ÿ˜€

don't know why they can't have a learjet like normal folk

Vortex, your post reminds me of an item on the news a couple of weeks ago about some Saudi prince chap ordering an Airbus A380 Superjumbo as his private plane!!
Supposed to be fitted out with a garage for his Rolls, sauna, cinema, the whole works!

Every time you hear one of those older jets, it makes you realise how quiet the new ones have become
