I put a dustbin on Freecycle.

Had quite a few people declining the dustbin but asking if I had freezer going spare instead. Well if I did perhaps I might have made it clear rather than trying to disguise it as a bin.

Boris' team looking for his next hiding place?

You should have let him have it cheap to be fair. Knowing the 130 it will have ate its dual mass and injectors by the time he got it home! (previous owner here)

Why do you think I sold it 🙂 Nothing worse than knowing you've got a couple of £1k bills with the clock ticking, and they both seem to happen close together! It was reliable until the day I put it on Autotrader, then I had to rush it down to a garage as the water feed to the oil cooler started leaking!

It was crying car tears for being dumped by you, you heartless bastard.

Just been offered £88 by the insurance company for Colin the Mighty C-Max.

Handful of bit's can be sold for more than that (wheels, stereo), not sure what to do with the rest, sell as a write off for 99p/no reserve and hopefully no faff, or keep going with the stripping. Annoyingly my perceived value in it things like brand new brakes which I doubt anyone would want (anyone want a brand new set of EBC greenstuff brakes for a C-max / mk2 focus?)

Just sold my first bike on Ebay never again, I cant imagine what a car would be like. I am sure you can relist whilst you are waiting for issue to be resolved.

Sold an old deisel Citroen ZX for a couple of hundred quid on eBay a few years back. My favourite part was the lad and his 'expert' mate trying to find the turbo after saying it had no boost...

It wasn't a turbo diesel neither was it advertised as such. The lad was up for arguing until I pulled the listing up to show him and his Dad (who'd been standing with me taking shaking his head at his son) basically gave him a clip round the ear and told him to hand the money over.

Nowt as queer as folk...

Autotrader every time.
Just sold a Mercedes E350 with 160k on the clock during lockdown for more than I was hoping. The secret. Clean the car, 20 photos inc closeups of imperfecttions, list every stratch, stone chip, scruff so they have nothing to knock down when the get there. I paid £80 for the listing with 20 large photos and unlimited time and revisions. Only a couple of chancers, aurotrader hide your number and flag its a call from them when you answer. Had lots of interest and a guy drove down from Lincoln to Reading with his wife and bought it. BACS into my account, complete V5C online and instant email confirmation. YMMV.

I've always found selling cars, motorbikes, camera gear, hi-fi gear and pretty much everything except cycling stuff on ebay to be fine. Good description listing positive and negative bits, lots of good quality photos and stuff sells for good money and without hassle.

Cycling gear on the other hand, man there are some window lickers around! I have a bike up for sale at the moment, it has 5 or 6 bids and is just over £600. I must have had 8 messages in the last 3 days asking if I'll take 450, 500 or even 400 if they collect it today. Why the %£$" would I sell for less than I have bids for with 4 days still to run.
