We applied for about £2.5k of tickets (on the basis that we might get about 10-20% of them!). So far, nothing charged to my account. It's now just past 10pm on the Tuesday when it's reported all payments will be completed.

WTF?

Nick

Applied for max £600 here... rowing, weightlifting, track cycling, triathlon general admittance and women's mountain biking general admittance. Nothing. 😕

I thought I'd read somewhere that women's mountain biking was under-subscribed and would be going to round 2... will be annoyed if they open that for round 2 without us having gotten in on round 1! 👿

Kip +1... although I guess we had more chance than you did - our little one will be 3 at Olympic time so would be worth 50% more! 😉

women's mountain biking

Was mentioned in an email about 2nd chance tickets that you might be able to get.

Nothing for me!

Not sure I want to go through this all over again for sloppy 2nds tbh.

I am a tad miffed, my Pop would have loved to have gone to the Olympics, his sport was Hockey & he spent all his life coaching kids to play Hockey, he is very ill & will not see it to 2012, but every time I call, or he calls me, he asks me if I have any news about our tickets!

That's life for you I guess.....

got the email last night saying they'd tried to charge the card but failed. 🙁

Upon inspection it seemed some over-excited muppet (that'll be) managed to get the expiry date of the card wrong by one digit. Cue emailing the website and getting on the phone this afternoon to follow up. Thankfully all sorted - no idea how much they've taken yet but at least I'm getting something ( almost £800 worth applied for)

good luck everyone

TM

well, I've got nothing yet, and nothing 'pending' on my account. £616 worth of ticket (10 pairs), some I was never going to get (closing ceremony) but we have an early tabletennis heat!

grr 🙁

Put in for about £2k's worth, mainly cycling and athletics. Sister and mother in law did the same the only charge made is a £140 deducted from my cc which I think is for a random session of weightlifting tacked on as an afterthought. But at least it's something.

I only applied for £400 worth because i didnt want to risk it all coming out, wish I had applied for a load more though because it appears people are getting barely any of the amount they bid for.

Guess i wont be going tho..... 🙁

Has £99 out of a possible £900 taken.

Website is still stating

If you are successful, payment will be taken between 10 May 2011 and 10 June 2011.

Where is it reported, officially, that payment will be taken by the 31st May?

I applied for £260 worth and have either got two for the 2nd round of the football at Wembley, or BMX final by the looks of it. I was expecting to have to send some back but I think I'm quite happy to have got anything as it turns out.

I'm still planning on watching the road racing & marathon though. I was under the impression that the £20 XC mountain biking tickets were just for the finish area and that you could watch along the course for free but from the sounds of it that is not correct? Oh well, TV it is then!

3k application => nada.

I was so chuffed when we won this, now pretty hacked off with the whole thing. Now seriously thinking about renting out my place in N.London during the games, if someone wants to pay me silly money I will take the family on a nice 2 week holiday.

Not all but most payments should have been debited by the close of play yesterday.

Well I *only* tried for 3 pairs of tickets = £300, but my story is the same - Nowt.

I was moaning on Twitter about it then realised I'm certainly not the only one; Bradley Wiggins tweeted that his Wife and Kids did't get any tickets so will have to watch his team pursuit on telly. Ridiculous!

It's a proper mess up. Gutted.

and watch out for the empty seats on the day.....half of tickets going to sponsors for a lot of events, are their guests REALLY going to show up for a lot of this stuff? I've been to enough corp entertainment events and sat in a row of empty seats for half the day. Wimbledon Ladies Quarter Finals last year.....CENTRE COURT!

I'm not convinced that there is anything worth moaning about, there are too many people who want a limited number of tickets, sure they could have done it differently but that wouldn't mean we would all have got the tickets we wanted, especially for events such as the track cycling.

If they had given more info about when the GB team would be taking part then those sessions would have been even more over subscribed. If they reduced the sales to corporates then the cost for individuals would have gone up.

Would be interesting to know how many have been given away. If it is half to sponsors then presumably that is part of the way the event is financed and without sponsor support again ticket prices would have to go up.

I applied, my wife applied and my father in law applied. So far none of our accounts/credit cards have been debited. The sessions, I selected were weekday mornings (On the basis that more people would apply for evenings and weekends).

It sounds like the London 2012 organisers asked FIFA ticket to organise the ticket ballot 😉

People are only saying it's a mess up because they didn't get what they wanted. The tickets have been sold to people who wanted to go to those events. Just cos it wasn't you doesn't mean the process went wrong! 😛

Well I have £216 worth of tickets 😆

No idea which sessions it is for but at least I am going to something at the Olympics.

It is a fair system in that it is drawn at random and surely confirms that we are a nation of sporting spectators if the problem we are complaining about is that it is oversubscribed.

I would still love to have got all 1K worth of tickets I asked for though.

Sure there would have been a better way of doing it. I might have a look at what goes into the pot when people decide they don't want to go.

Also think its terrible that families of people competing don't get to go. Not expecting them to give loads of tickets, but 1 or 2 would be nice for the heats! Tom Daley complaining on twitter that his mum might not actually be able to watch him!

Applied for £1700 worth and was lucky to get a pair of tickets (£136) for a track session: men's sprint qualifying. It was the only session that I went for the "cheaper" cat C seats (hence being able to work out what I've got) - the others I opted for B thinking I'd stand a better chance.

couldn't you set your selection at 'cat b to d' so the chances were greater? I did that on the odd session that (to me) justified £50/head tickets

I don't mind not getting the tickets, but having to have a extra grand in my bank for a whole month is a bit silly.

I was hoping I could take my son on his 4th birthday to the MTB event, but alas no tickets 🙁 . Also failed to get my other events.
My mate also failed and so did my brother. As yet, I dont know anyone who has been successful? (4 families so far)

The more stories I hear about people not getting tickets the luckier I feel. We only applied for the Men's MTB (upper price bracket) and Men's 100m final night. I knew that it would be doubtful for the 100m final, but really glad we have the MTB tickets as thats the one I want to see most - obviously.

Also planning on going to watch the road race and marathon. Maybe the Triathlon if that is free to watch as well?

Seems to be a similar story for many. Applied for £2.3k worth for a family of 5, lots of different stuff, nothing too ambitious, but 3 sets of £95 track tickets, plus some family priced event. Got £228 worth, not sure what yet. Seems like 10% of your order is par for the course, with lots of people ordering £500 or less getting nothing. Dumb system, whereby lots of people have lost out. Real shame.

What gets me is they can take your money but not tell you what it's for!? Every other e-commerce operation on the planet can manage this!! Even CRC! 😉

Applied for two £20 Womens mtb and two £45 men's mtb tickets. Looks like we've got the men's but not the Womens. Have to say I'm quite pleased with that as I only went for the Womens as I thought we may not get the men's tickets.
Will probably go and watch the road ride as a freebie as well mind 🙂

Right. My earlier comment was a bit previous as we have won £146 worth of tickets. Since £6 is postage, that means we didn't get any of the £3 general admittance child's tickets which means no women's mtb for me which I'm sorry about.

Can't quite remember what values we put for which sports, but please don't let our haul be two £70 tickets for the rowing...

I put in for about £4000 worth and think i've "only" got the BMX final. Will enjoy that but going to be a alot of expense with travelling and accomodation just for the one event at about £20!...unfortunately the road race and the bmx finals are over a week apart so i wont be able to see both.

Im happy for anyone that got tickets, i think its a great chance to see something that doesnt happen very often in this country.

I do however feel the way the organisers went about selling the tickets wasnt exactly the fairest way. Plus a lot of what they have said has been very mis-leading.

After applying for three events we didn't get any... 🙁

I get the impression because of the way they've done it lots of people applied for looooads of events to make sure they'd get some; presumably this means lots of events will end up being watched by people who don't particularly care about it, that's just the tickets they ended up with...

Bid for over a grands worth and only got 2 tickets for rowing at £30 each. Seems a fairly typical story. Road race passes only a couple of miles away so at least that will be easy.

Found out this morning have tickets for either boxing or rowing finals. No cycling at all, given the mtb was an open air field was a little disappointed
