[#1976398]

I'm posting here for maximum exposure, as i know who widespread and affective a post like this can be

....a local man and friend of many, has now been missing for over 1 month. This link from the local rag will give you the basic story.
http://www.thisisbath.co.uk/news/Parents-appeal-mystery-disappearance-Bath-man/article-2621182-detail/article.html.

I'm awaiting details on whether he may have a bike and van with him, said van was involved in an accident on the day of has last known contact with friends/family,the 30th july 2010.

The possible sighting at fort william may link to his wanting to set up a climbing school in the area with an ex army pal of his.

Clearly he doesn't want to be found, but many concerned people just need to know he's safe and well.

So although the pic is poor can anyone in particular in Scotland around fort bill area, keep their eyes open and if they see anyone who looks like Andy contact bath police on 0800 4567000.

I'll try to give a better description of him when i know more, all i know right now is he's big and Jason Stratham looking.

Thanks all.

Just bumping this up as maybe last night was a bad time to target most people.

Also if the MODS are reading it, could perhaps a title change be made.

'Help find a missing rider' or words of that effect.

Thanks.

Is he on the run from police then?

well done elf, lets not focus on finding a missing person, lets focus on the idea that he might be a criminal on the run.

Hope he's found soon, fit and well. Perhaps a title change to something related to fort bill riders?

There are no known reasons why he wishes to not be found.

Chipps has met him and maybe able to give a description.

He's the 'Rose' man, Andy and Fin came to show you the lovely range of bikes.

No, you misunderstand me.

If he's on the run, then maybe it's more likely he's ok, no? Just hiding out/avoiding arrest.

I wasn't trying to be negative, just offering some thoughts that's all. Maybe I should have explained that, sorry.

I had a mate do something silly many years ago, went missing. his family were very worried, but then we got word he was ok, just lying low.

Sharki; I apologise if my initial comment was inappropriate, I didn't mean anything negative or untoward by it. I hope your friend is ok and safe.

I'm based up fort William way, I'll definitely keep a look out for him, any better descriptions than looking a bit like Jason statham? Type of bike, jacket etc?

Nothing yet mate.

If he's on a bike, there's a fair chance it'll be a Rose as he was/is the main importer to the country.

Only pic i have is the one on the news page and then there this one, he's the one in the middle.

Thanks Chris.

Pretty sure the police are treating this as missing person, not man hunt.

Nice bloke, hope he turns up!

I run holiday accommodation in the area - no sign of him at my place. I'll send the link round some other local accommodation later today.

Police are no longer actively looking for him, now just concerned family and friends.

Thanks for the messages, etc.

Police will try to locate a missing person to ensure their welfare and wellbeing. However, active searching (at any level) can only be done for a finite period of time, lots of people go missing, many are never found, Police will have files on many but unable to do anything.

As dangerousbeans said really.

I never said he was a wanted man just a missing person, unsure what made you come to that conclusion and i'm sorry if it wasted your time having to read it.

Missing person searches get scaled down quite quickly, from what i've heard the police/search and rescue, etc, only actively searched for me for a few days, once phone traces and bank account access info gave no leads to where i could be,they then just sat back and relied on the eyes and ears of the general public.

I was only reported as seen, because i wasn't hiding my identity and a member of the public contacted someone.

If Andy has chosen to withhold his name from people and where he's from, etc then his whereabouts will remain unknown.

With no medical concerns, he would not be graded as a venerable missing person and with no criminal back ground he's not danger to anyone.

This is thread is now just for the reassurance of those that care. If he pops up and says he's fine, perhaps then everyone concerned can stop the wondering and worrying.

They say no news is good news, but that doesn't stop the what if's..

Well said sharki, if anyone happens on him, if he happens on this thread even, just to let him know that we hope he's ok and are thinking about him and (some) people do care.

I'm unsticking this topic now. He's apparently been sighted using cashpoints in Scotland so the conclusion we must draw is that his 'disappearance' is his choice. We still of course hope that he makes contact with those people who are closest to him if for no other reason than to just let them know he's ok.
