post numbers? I spotted that a few minutes a go too.
I was just about to comment of that as well.
is it to make the quotes system more formal
eg "i would like to draw the honourable company's attention to the point raised in post 34 of this thread" ?
you mean at the top always been there or for ages anyway

There is a "feature", the numbering restarts at 1 on each page of a longer thread.
