Using Gibson as a picture is inspired. He's not Scottish either. 🙂
*EDIT- beaten to it by DezB! 🙂 *
He was actually born in New Zealand
going to be insufferable?

Yeah?
Mel Colm-Cille Gerard Gibson, AO (born January 3, 1956) is an actor, film director, producer and screenwriter. Born in Peekskill, New York, Gibson moved with his parents to Sydney, Australia when he was 12 years old
Or did you mean the other fella?
up until scotlands failed attempt at secession has devasted the country and they come crawling back to the union begging for help
Have any of you heard about, or seen the 'Braveheart' statue sitting in the carpark below the Wallace Monument in Stirling? It's Awesome. 😆
The story (as I heard it) goes that an artist created the statue, then had a hard time flogging it until he came upon the Sword Hotel, sadly now a housing estate, at the foot of the monument and managed to get them to buy it. Along comes the unveiling day, and there's our national hero, complete with the famous lines from the Declaration of Arbroath, standing sword raised in defiance! Yep, a perfect replica of Mel Gibson. It's brilliant, and makes me laugh every time I ride past it. Especially, as ironically it has to be kept behind bars to prevent vandals chucking paint etc at it.
If Scotland were ever to gain independence, can I come down and stay with you guys? 😆
Royston - I think you are getting mixed up with Russell Crowe, and shhh please the world has accepted him as Aussie let's keep it that way. We are keeping Pavlova, but they can have him for free.

Seems like a reasonable swap for TJ
Scotland's really grown on me recently.
Beautiful scenery, stunning weather. Beagleboy... if you live near Laggan we could do a life swap?
Do we get to vote on Scottish independence too? Surely as we actually subsidise them it should be up to us, not them?
[blue touchpaper lit, retires]
That statue is outstanding! Its like a school project that got out of hand.
The bus shelter surrounding it is the piece de resistance
Why have they caged the dude who's crying for freedom??
He was pretty placid before they caged him.
Oh right, I see. He should go for a dirty protest, nothing grabs attention like smearing your own feces around the place.
Is it Wolfie?
Wow that statue is amazing.
I really enjoyed that documentary about Scottish history, Braveheart
Scotland pays for England (& Wales) it's a well known fact. Given Scotlands track record on all things financial it will be a better place with those south of the border.
Biscuit, anyone? Choccy digestives!
I am waiting for a certain someone to turn up with the shortbread but thanks anyway.

I believe its referred to as a 'garnish'
all being prepped for a deep fryer no doubt.
That's just to make it look real pretty, I'm not stupid enough to think you eat that stuff. I like mine served with black pudding and bacon.

Hairychested's pic has made me hungry.

Much lollage at this thread!
Where is STW's Favourite Faux-Scot anyway?
Roy, that "genuinely radical" something is called Socialism. Such a pity you've forgotten what that means.Labour peer Lord Hattersley says the SNP have made gains because they are offering something "genuinely radical" - a real alternative on health and social care, and tuition fees, for example. He says this is the sort of political ground his party must work to recapture.

Dirty.
He will be along shortly, he's just trying to find his plastic sporran or is it the claymore of truth.
Having the SNP returned to power is great, having them potentially gaining a working majority is even better, but the icing on the cake is coming on here and revel in a load of southerners whining away because they're stuck with the Tory government they voted for, and they're looking on while their social infrastructure gets dismantled for the benefit of private enterprise.

Well said ditch_jockey. And roll on your glorious independence.
Seriously - Good luck foir the future with the whole 'Arc of Prosperity' thing. I've heard the whole project's going really really well.
Don't forget to turn the lights off when you leave 😉
Thanks, hadn't realised we were letting reality get in the way of this thread's direction 🙂
Look on the bright side, at least we dished out a spanking to the Lib Dems for you - it will help ease them in gently to the outcome of the next General Election. As the night went on, it was getting embarrassing as they started to lose more deposits than the investors at Lehmann Brothers.
Ssshhhhhh. Just trying to bait the trap for you-know-who. He won't be able to resist for much longer 🙂
I like the pictures of the newly elected SNP man who turned up to the count in jeans & t-shirt - never thinking for a moment that he would get in!
The only midge in the ointment so far, is that Annabel Goldie, thanks to PR, has managed to crawl back in. I guess that you won't hear Call Me Dave discussing how PR saved the leader of the Scottish Tories however!
Role on the final result & an SNP outright majority!!
p.s. I preferred Rob Roy to Braveheart - can we have pictures of our other famous Scotsman - Liam Neeson please?
they're stuck with the Tory government they some of them voted for
Remove the scottish vote and we'll have a tory government forever. 😀

Oi, hardly anyone votes Tory in the North of England - when you get independence please please please can we be part of it?
LOL @ Scottish Breakfast Tea!!!
LOL @ Scottish Breakfast Tea!!!
Grown in the Scottish Highlands, plucked by bonny maids then dried using the smoke from the finest North Sea oil.

We'll take Cumbria and Northumberland, but you can keep Newcastle, Manchester and Sheffield - we already have Glasgow to contend with.
I've said this countless times before. Independence for the South East of England is the only solution!!!

Yeah! Which tea for 2 Paracetamol and a bottle of Irn-Bru?
Oh, dear God.... He's going to be insufferable
Has he ever existed in any other condition ?
Most English people I've argued with about Scottish independence say that the south of England subsidies Scotland. I can never understand why they are against independence if all we do north of the border is sponge of them and mis-spend their hard earned taxes.
We all have our crosses to bear
ditch jockey good call using a screenshot from teh trippy ending of disneys black hole 😉

I had to laugh at the right-on folks at the Guardian complaining that Dr Who was getting too scary for kids - have none of them watched Disney's Black Hole, complete with zombies, evisceration by robot and that ending...
LOL - Daily Mash in "we don't have a clue what we're talking about, but we'll be cynical about it anyway in the hope that we appear achingly cool" shocker.
wah! they boiled pac man 🙁
It's a brilliant result for democracy.
The pot is being brought to the boil, and whingeing southerners can breathe a sigh of relief - you won't be "subsidising" us for much longer. 🙂
