Picked up a genuine Belstaff leather jacket in a charity shop for £15....browsing eBay they seem to ridiculously go from £100 - £500.
This can't be right surely!?....i'd bought it for myself but the impending YT Tues had put a motorbike on the backburner for a while.
Hold onto it or eBay it?
How much does it weigh?
I think it'll depend on the jacket, Belstaff have had some real ups and downs- they've been a quality bike brand, a [rude word] fashion brand, and just about everything inbetween.
It seems to be more or less that the worse it is for riding in, the more it's worth. And some of it is genuinely useless for bike use- single row exposed stitching that'll abrade through in a second, thin soft leather, no proper armour provision.
Interesting, I'm much more an Alpinestars man so this is all new to me.
I'd happily wear the jacket on a bike, it's thick heavy duty leather, an excellent cut when leaned forward and appears to be double stitched everywhere, even came with it's original padding inserts.
I'll give it a punt today anyway, shall we say starting bid of £50 or is that ambitious?
