Wife’s car won’t start (03 plate Ford Fusion, petrol). Get lots of warning lights and relays clicking but it won’t turn over.
It has been sat unused on the drive for 2 1/2 weeks and in the month prior to that it had only done a handful of miles. There is plenty of fuel in it.
I’m trying to diagnose from a distance. Battery?
Sounds like it.
Friendly neighbour with jump leads could be your answer.
Jump or bump, give it a run round the block to charge the battery.
Might be wroth getting the battery health checked before winter sets in. Especially if it's infrequently used.
I used to live about 5 miles outside the nearest town, no near neighbours and had a flat battery one day.
I phoned a local taxi firm and asked if they had anyone who'd come and give me a jump start for the price £20. There was someone there in about 5 minutes and it was quicker than waiting for the AA.
If your wife is at home and doesn't need the car in a hurry then I'd probably try the AA/RAC this evening.
