[#7101499]

Girlfriends flat has a Nuaire permenantly on ventillation system.

The motor seems to have failed, its only been in there for 3 years. Is that reasonable?

The last one cost over £150, before cost of fitting. Is there anywhere to get them on the cheap. I'm guessing its a fairly cheap standard mains motor, but branded and hence expensive.

Any info welcome

Cheers

Have you considered asking Nuaire themselves?

Nuaire are a manufacturer but do not make electric motors, if you get the details of the motor or fan name plate it should be possible to direct you to the place for a replacement. You never know who could be reading this thread.

Right, Nuaire got back to me. Motor is £280 ex vat/delivery. Nearly fell off my chair.

Unit is an MEV-M, and the Motor part number is 772273, but I think this is Nuaire specific.

Do you think it's worth disassembling it to look at the motor directly?

Cheers,

Is it just one of those positive ventilation jobbies?

Because you can buy the whole thing new for less than that...

Or is it one of these:

(you mention the model being MEV-M).

It looks even cheaper:
