Is this Ron Pickering famous for something other than high blood pressure?

Who?

Neither party came out of that particularly well (I'm assuming he's a learner rider?), but the point at which RFP starts papping on about a 'bare-knuckle fight' is the point I'd be getting the police involved.

What a pair - shows how most road rage arguments are just both parties making one ridiculous statement after another.

Nicely highlights one thing I've never understood about road rage. He's in such a big hurry that he gets all shouty hardman because he's been inconvenienced for a few seconds, yet he's got all the time in the world to stop for a slanging match.

I just find that a really depressing reflection on the human race ๐Ÿ™

I think his plan was to wind Ron up until he had a heart attack or spontaneously combusted.

Feel sorry for Ron's wife though. She has the timid thousand yard stare of someone who has seen this too many times before.

Would you have preferred her jabbing her finger at the moped-er and shouting "yeah, you tell him Ronnie"? ๐Ÿ™‚

TBH a passenger doing anything other than telling a raging driver to STFU and let it go is a bad sign IMO.

Jeez. That's hilarious & depressing in equal measure!

Respect to the scooter bloke for not being intimidated, but would have been much better to have just apologised/held his hand up & let him get on his way.

No way on that little scooter I would have got back in front of him after the initial ding dong.

The popularity of the video has soared after being posted on reddit as "a very British road rage incident" - making something of an internet star of Mr Pickering, a 51-year-old man from Hull, in Yorkshire.

According to his social media profiles, Mr Pickering graduated the David Lister high school in Hull in 1978. He is married, and has a Yorkshire terrier dog named Baxter.

"I'll do this and I'll do that".

You didn't even take your seatbelt off, let alone make a move to get out of the car. Perhaps exercising anything other than his big mouth was all a bit much for RFP.

I just presumed he was something to do with football - Ron Pickering sounds like a Paul Whitehouse character or something..

What the smeg?

That was like a Vic & Bob sketch.

Personally I'd have said to him "this is not a game of who the **** are you".

You can tell you're dealing with a complete arsetrumpet when he names his dog after a tin of bloody soup. Does he take it out for a walk to have a cockaleekie? FFS.

That video reminded me of these neighbours arguing like 10 year olds.

The husband in this is off the scale.

Wow!

At ~6 seconds he does the "Stoopid says whut?" gag and his own wife answers "Whut?" ๐Ÿ˜†

There is only one way to reply to the question "do you know who I am?" and that is to start guessing.
"John?"
"no"
"Jeff?"
"no"
"Mike?"
"no"
etc etc

Saw something like this a few years ago and the "Ron Pickering" character got out the car and before he could start he was on the floor out like a light, not sure who the small guy was picked on but he really knew how to handle himseelf. His Mrs didnt say much but thats probably his problem - a big fat bully boy who picks on women and small people, if he was that tough he would have been out the car instead of sat in it blurting profanities.TOSSER

it would have been funnier if the guy on the scooter responded "no, I'M Ron Pickering" in a Spartacus style.

In fact surely there's a market for "I'm Ron Pickering" t-shirts

Tragically now closed. And supposedly not just because it was named after Dave Lister. From a news story at the time, "Under the plans, David Lister will effectively be replaced by the new-look Archbishop Sentamu", which is a bit of an unexpected direction for the show to take...

Bloody funny that, the guy wound Ron up a treat!
In fact the moped rider sounded like Reece Shearsmith of the league of gentlemen! Now that would have been funny . . .

It must be open season for angry little fat men in Citroen Picasso's. (though this was a silver 51 plate)

I had one start a stream of obscenity's at me this afternoon as I was a "****ing W**ker" for slowing and let a "****ing cyclist turn right"
The cyclist had followed the highway code perfectly by indicating and only moving out once he could see I was allowing him to.

At the next set of lights he drew alongside and started his ranting, I probably didn't help the situation by assuming a 1920's upper class level of civility.
I think my "but my good fellow what would you have me do, run the poor chap down" might have wound him up as he then followed me for about 3 miles despite me driving a convoluted route (I'm on holiday this week so in no rush to go anywhere)
I decided to pull over and got out, at this point he realised I was serious as slowed took a look at me and sped off.
The fact I am built like Ton's younger brother might have influenced his decision.

If only I had seen this thread earlier I could have asked "Are you Ron ****ing Pickering"

I think I would be angry if I lived in Hull and drove a French people carrier.
