Not the only people - friends of mine had a flat in Birmingham, they were not permitted a clothes line - or to have clothes hanging in the window so that they could be seen from other flats ❓
There's a simple answer. Shoot the people responsible for the rules either because they created them, or created the 'need' for them. The human race really does have some bizarre notions of what matters in the world some times...
Clothesline bans are ridiculous in a society that purportedly places so much value on the environment.

I'm not xenophobic at all. The 'phobic' bit would mean that I'm afraid. Anyone so monumentally skewed to come up with rules like that doesn't deserve fear, regardless of country of origin.

I was merely pointing out the fact that both Europe and PARTS of America have considered similar legislation, but for different reasons, reasons which may give us an insight into the general morality and mindset of said regions.

No EU country has considered banning dildos. And "[i]PARTS of America[/i]" have gone way beyond "considering" the legislation........it is very clearly illegal to buy or sell dildos in some US states. Despite the fact that buying a gun in case you need to kill someone, is a constitutional right. There is no constitutional right to stimulate your own genital organs.
No matter how you try to spin it Spanner, there is absolutely no comparison between the situations in the US and the EU.
