Evidence from my own camera.

They had 18 Spitfires for the 2015 Battle of Britain show though didn't they?

Was a stunning show. I have a video of it, and the hum of those merlins. Nothing quite like it. This is mine, slightly edited though

I suppose the hum of the merlin (though far more likely griffon) engines makes a nice background hum to the main sound show…

What was this? There was a load of old planes, including some gurt big uns, flying over our sailing club in West Yorkshire on Sunday and we were curious about what was going on.

the Spitfires was at Duxford but there was also a show at Southport.

Rachel, there was only 1 griffon engines Spits in that group of 14, most of them are quite early versions.

It's really a big long lens thing, an airshow isn't it.

The new regulations mean that they are a little further away than before. From the normal crowd line my 300mm wasn't really enough (400 would be good) although to be honest I'd rather watch the aircraft with my eyes than through a camera viewfinder 🙂

i agree Solo

The only noise was when the Vampires taxied back, that whistling was annoying.
