In England, if there is a sudden or unexpected death the coroner is responsible for looking into it. In Scotland the Procurator Fiscal does it. Who does it in Norway, if anyone? Thanks.

congratulations that must be the most random post ever! good luck with it, i'd get in touch with the norwegian embassy, they'll be better than a load of random peeps who ride or look at bikes.

Nearly posted something that could have been inappropriate, in the theme of the Monty Python undertaker sketch.

On holiday in Norway with travel companion passed away? Travel Insurers? British Embassy?

Trying to correspond with a Norwegian chap whose mother died in Scotland a few weeks ago, and explain some of the procedures that happen here. If I knew the Norwegian equivalent to our coroner it might make a bit more sense to him. I might email the embassy though, good call. Thanks.

In Sweden it is a Rättsläkaren and if you translate into Norge it says den coroner, I hope that is some help.
