not sure if they are OK with dogs, but the red lion in alnmouth is a cracking pub / inn, and you've got a brilliant beach and loads of walking right on your doorstep

Embleton has some nice Inns but village itself is sparse but right next to some great beaches.

Alnmouth is rather nice village with some nice enough Inns.

Bamburgh is stunning but maybe a bit pricey for what you want.

As they're on my doorstep I have little knowledge of them other when I've been in the rooms through work.

Any link for Greys? Googled it but there's nothing very helpful.

NOt really they don't seem to have a site. Tripadvisor has some info.
