Fed up of being shafted by Vodafone but have doggedly stuck by them due to superior network coverage in the Highlands over the years. Is this still the case?
Looking at O2 (via a 12-month Tesco contract) but don't want to compromise on network coverage. Not really an issue here in the deep south (Fife) but I spend a lot of time back north so want a good, reliable service
Vodafone and O2 share much of the infrastructure these days, so coverage is close to being the same (although there are still some areas where Vodafone is really the only option).
Why not get a cheap Vodafone PAYG for emergencies?
Remember, you'll almost always get a decent signal at the top of a mountain ๐
Cheers Druidh.
Just found this:

Which is O2's own version of things.
Vodafone PAYG SIM card would make sense too.
Orange is much, much worse than Vodafone and 02 beyond Perth and away from main roads.
I was on Vodafone for years but left for Orange after the nobbed me around on a phone upgrade. Fortunately my work Blackberry is on 02 so I can have it with me for emergencies - it has worked many times where Orange hasn't had a single bar.
I'm on Vodafone and the coverage over the past couple of years has been a lot better further up North. I can get a better signal when in Lochinver (way North West Scotland) than I can in my living room in Glasgow. Now getting signals at various points up that direction that I wasn't 2-3 years ago.
