Did the cause of this incident involve small children?

Ouch. I've had a few stray stones. What grinder?
On my Mahlkonig, it strips the belt and/or pulley, so up and running again in minutes if I've remembered to order spares. The Rossi just makes a horrendous racket and grinds the stone, it's seemingly unstoppable.

Happy Donkey sell replacement blades. And I like their Brazilian Blend.

I have done that to mine too but no problem whatsoever because the grinder just stop grinding. It seems to know the stone was too hard to grind.

Mine is Eureka Mignon Mk 2 Instantaneo Grinder Auto/Manual.

Once I took the stone out I went on my merry way grinding coffee again. ๐Ÿ˜›

I had a piece of wire brush in mine but no damage to the burrs.
If it's a decent grinder you will be able to get spares.
(They are not blades but burrs)

I don't think this bashful lass who roasted then ground me a coffee in Addis Ababa, the world capital of coffee, would have worried about the odd stone in her mortar and pestle!

Oh no! Disaster strikes!

Maybe a fellow stwer could come and collect you in his hybrid BMW and take you to the shops to buy a new one. I'd give it a while though, there may be a delay as he doesn't have Pro Nav so may run out of fuel before he gets to your house

The real reason for 'fully traceable beans' comes to light.

Whittard's Guatemalan Elephant, the grinder is a Dualit. I have been in contact with them and they asked for pictures but I am yet to hear back from them.

On the nasty pre-ground coffee now ๐Ÿ™

I have tried and tried to pull the stone out to no avail (using a pair of needle pliers) and I am reluctant to pull too hard for fear of breaking something else. Any ideas?

You will have to disassemble it as pulling will make it worse. Really easy on the Dualit grinder.

I would have thought its just jammed the mechanism, so surely turning the grinding bits in the opposite direction should un-jam it?

I can try again, but so far it has appeared completely jammed solid.
