When that Diablo went he didn’t look like he was doing anything daft to be fair, probably just a lack of experience driving a 30 yr old rwd car.
Wall of death immediately made me think of the Guy Martin think and how tame that was in comparison
That was another good episode, I think this current series is showing that they do like each other with the Mickey taking being fired in all directions.
The Guy Martin one was live and the danger didn't come across, the edited runs here showed the danger and they can signpost the important things; bits falling off, tyre smoke from the suspension collapsing etc.
Would have been good to tie in whether or not the Diablo had been written off or saved!
I wold have assumed a car like that will be classed a 'classic' and therefore worth repairing (in fact I am sure the insurance and contracts between TG and the owner will have such stuff written in).
Interesting that they used super accurate speedo’s for the write offs, but not on the Jags ‘200mph’ run... 😉

Agreed. The Tabloids are throwing around mad numbers for it's value, £250k, £300k etc.
It is/was an early one (no spoiler, not VT obviously, pop up lights) depending on mileage etc it could be worth as 'little' as £120k or so and there was a lot of damage, nothing that seems to my uneducated eye as terminal, but it was the front, rear and whole side of it including the roof. I think it's a write off.
Still, if you were going to crash one, better the Diablo than the £1m F40 or the £400k 220.
Can't imagine there is much suitable trim lying around in the local scrappy.
Nice to see they wheeled out the 'patch of oil' line that was touted at the time and the other two took the piss out of it.
That road is deceptively difficult, looks straight enough but there are lots of little dips and compressions and tiny corners that could unbalance a car like that, especially when being driven by a chimp like McGuinness.
F40 still looks the dogs-bollox today.
Jag and Lambo look fat, lardy and dated. Never been a fan of the Jag - the massive overhangs and bulbous rear end are minging.
Best thing about this Top Gear line up is the wife will watch it again now. No need to make make her suffer it!
Just had a look on the DVLA thingy for the Lambo.
It is currently SORN.
It’s not for me, always interested in tests of interesting cars
Search Chris Harris on YouTube or, well, just "car reviews". Not sure what you were expecting?!
I've not watched it yet. Generally like it apart from one section.
Please tell me it's gone....
The dreaded interview and lap. It was the least popular section on the Clarkson version yet it's still persisted.
Fast forward that chunk, unless you're interested in Benedict Cumberwhatevers new drama series coming out.
^It has gone.
Yep, format seems to now be 1/3 interesting/super car (s), 2/3 ‘give the presenters a car each for challenges/dicking about’.
I’m happy with this.
Was the trashed diablo a set up ? The one that turned up on the back of the lorry had the numberplates blanked out, and it's not the first time that 'the presenter had an accident'
the wall of death was good.
Good episode once again, really enjoyed it and so did Mrs Lunge.
It's good, clean Sunday night TV, nothing pretentious and I like it that way.
Unrelated, Freddie didn't look well in this one. There's a documentary on him and his struggles with Bulimia and he looked not good yesterday.
The one that turned up on the back of the lorry had the numberplates blanked out,
That’s pretty common practice.
The Lambo got an advisory for a worn rear tyre on the last MOT.
Another cracking episode and nice to see some family cars being tested.
Not sure why they bothered with the whole ‘hire car’ charade, but it was a laugh if not a classic
It seems they are recycling old themes... Clarkson did the Rental thing in New Zeland if I remember.
Be nice if they did something really original.
I think there were a few actual toys out of pram cant take the bantz moments from Paddy in that episode
Awful.

I found his overbearing attitude toward modern laddism very annoying. I would have happily distilled that down to 3 mins of RS6 review and abandoned the rest.
I enjoyed it. Not brilliant but light and entertaining. It has even got my missus and youngest watching for the first time in a very long time. She couldn’t bear Clarkson and co and therefore the stuff which is simply a rehash of what has been done before doesn’t really matter.
Well that was fantastic final episode, they have such a great rapport now making for a cracking show.

Sarcasm doesn’t translate well on a screen but after watching tonight’s episode I can only assume that your tongue is well truly superglued to your cheek?
He’s drunk, surely.
Nope. I'm with Drac. I really enjoyed it. Great entertainment. Really feel the lads have gelled and compliment one another nicely. They are much funnier than Clarkson et al ever were.
The race round alton towers was funny and the bit with the tank had me laughing
Enjoyed this series, first I’ve watched for a while. Helps that I liked the presenters previously but I think they’re a good team and getting better.
I've enjoyed the series, but I really wish paddy would stop shouting. Its stressful!
Really like them as a presenting trio and have enjoyed the series to date. However that episode was a disappointing finish to the series imo
What Nomad said
I found it a bit daft...I'm a Paddy fan, but the Alton Towers and paintball stuff was scraping the barrel for me.
Interesting to read about the F40 episode etc, I'll give that a watch.
I like the chemistry between them all but that alone can't carry a lame item.
Poor ending and tired features. I'm watching more of Harris on YouTube TBH.
Paddy won’t stop shouting that’s his act.
It’s obvious that the filming was impacted by Covid. Some of the segments were weak as a result but the rapport was there and some of the episodes were pretty good. Agree last night was a bit of a let down

+1
It is what it is, and fair enough if that's not your thing. I quite enjoyed the early Clarkson and Co format, but it got a bit tired, struggled with some of the later shows and combinations, but this series has got back up there - some silly challenges, some interesting cars looked at in slightly left field ways, and a good rapport between the presenters.
The Mr Nippy ice cream van was as daft/brilliant as it comes.
I liked it. Genuinely happy it featured a lot of electric vehicles and not just supercars doing 5mpg around a track. For me that is progress.
For a bit of brain out TV on a Sunday evening it fits the bill. My wife, who doesn't normally like stupid stuff, even started watching it last night.
The chemistry between the three of them is good which helps an awful lot. Significantly better than it was with Chris Evans. Some of the episodes with Matt LeBlonk had a good premise but the chemistry between the presenters was just missing.
It's the show people love to hate isn't it.
I've enjoyed this series, it's the first one I've watched every episode of post-Clarkson et al. Couple of clunky bits but they're working as a team and there's been some genuinely funny moments. And let's face it, for years now Top Gear has been less about car reviews and more about blokes who should know better cocking about.
I do miss Sabine though, she was the best thing about the purgatory years by a country mile.
Paddy won’t stop shouting that’s his act.
How long before that simply becomes tiresome?
He's become more annoying [to me] as the series has gone on - I'd happily accept Chis Harris as the host along with freddie and someone slightly more petrolhead(y) than Freddie.
Shouty Paddy is just that.
I have no interest in cars, but I found myself really enjoying the escapist silliness of this series.
How long before that simply becomes tiresome?
Well he’s made quite a career out of if for almost 20 years so he’s doing Ok.
No likey, switch offy.

good point!!
