Need to fix a 100mm clay drain that has cracked. Should I go for cheap glass fibre resin patch/sleeve such as this sort of thing trelleborg drain repair or a proper job with 9m of trenching 1m deep and new plastic pipes?

sleeving is a perfectly reasonable repair. Should last a good while, not as long as a new clay drain, but many years

my insurance company did a liner repair on a drain i have running under the conservatory. Seemed easy to do, no disruption to me, and ok as far as i know a year on.

We specify liner/patch repairs all the time. As above, wont last as long as a whole new pipe, but perfectly good for 20 years if done correctly. Fraction of the cost esp on a dig greater than 1m. Just watch for any incoming drains from gullys etc if using a liner. Full CCTV survey and jet wash first.
