Read this in the Daily Wail (sorry)

Is it true that cycling sans bell may result in a £2500 fine and a jail sentence?

no

Unless you encountered a real jobsorth of a policeman, were unlucky to get a magistrate with no idea about the law, and a really shit lawyer.

Last night driving behind copper on police bike.

1 Flashing rear light, no reflectors, no pedal reflectors.

If I hadn't been so pissed I would have stopped and told him.

Using the power of google not my legal expertise i believe bells are only a requirement at point of sale. So not when you ride it.

I don't think it's an April Fool. I think the Daily Wail spouts inflammatory lies every day.
