Just got back into running for the winter and would like to track my runs. Nothing fancy or too expensive and I don't want the bulk of my Galaxy S3 on me. Been looking at the above as they're relatively cheap, any owners here that can pass opinion? Thanks

I had one maybe 5 years ago that plugged into my PC via a usb connection. appalling piece of kit, no gps, so it works on your stride, and it obviously doesn't take into account your stride shortening as you get tired, go up hill, navigate obstacles etc.

i couldn't get mine to calibrate at all, and couldn't get it to upload to PC. sent it back after two weeks of frustration.

I was led to believe on browsing the net that the second generation one is better calibrated??

It can only be calibrated on your stride though, so if your stride changes mid run, you aren't going to see the difference using a sportband. I would take the S3, with a proper GPS running app on there tbh, and you can listen to music!

You could go down the Garmin route; FR60 used on ebay for £25, plus £40 for a new footpod. Ok no GPS but you can upload to Garmin Connect etc.
