Where is good for a special family occasion? (no need to cater for kids)

Stonegate Yard is quite pleasant, also Oscars - does a good line in American micro brewery beer. Depends what you mean by family occasion - will old folks be involved, etc., if so, Stonegate Yard might suit better.

Just my parents (late 50s), sister (mid-20s) and myself (birthday boy at 30, come the occasion).

I was thinking a bit more up market than Stonegate Yard.

Hmm... How about out of town a bit - The Rose and Crown in Sutton-on-the-Forest is a very nice place to dine, Michelin recommended and not at all pub-like in the restaurant despite what it looks like from outside? Me and the missus don't really tend to do much of that kind of upmarket dining, we have to be back for junior as babysitters cost a fortune and the taxi fare to/from Linton-on-Ouse is exorbitant so if it's intimate couple only dining we stay very local, if we have friends visiting then Stonegate or similar, followed by a few drinks and then home.

Just had a meal at Meltons Too weekend gone. Was really nice. Ate 3 courses and was nicely full as opposed to stuffed. Online booking, so nice and simple.
