Is it just me who thinks the international games suck?

When you go to a proper NFL game you want to eat a catfish po'boy outside the Superdome, freeze your arse off tailgating at Lambeau or get abuse hurled at you at in Philadelphia.

The international games are sterile affairs watched by people wearing NFL caps and neither team wants to be there.

I don't either.

Wasn't expecting that result, looking forward to the Ravens/Steelers clash

Go commanders! Enjoyed watching that. The Bucs certainly like the pass rush and Daniel’s likes to rush. A few brave 4th down calls that could have come back to haunt them but they got away with it. The last kick…….an inch the other way and I would be crying into my cornflakes this morning.

I woke up at 5am and checked the Lions-commanders score. Was not expecting that!

What a great result. Watched the highlights earlier and it looked a decent game. 1 match away from the Superbowl. I think it will be the Eagles up next for us so not holding my breath but after last nights result anything could happen.

Gutted! Really wanted the Lions to get to the Superbowl (nothing against the Commanders). In the absence of this:

GO BILLS!! (Guaranteed to lose now)

I'd have rather we were playing LAR but a limping Hurts might be better. Just need to sit on Barkley

I saw the result earlier.   Used to watch as a teenager,  got into it in 86 neat the end of regular season and started following Washington as they seemed exciting,  went on a run, got a wild card spot and possibly azgmae further (can't remember)  I do remember the superpower win the following year and again in 91.  Drifted away from it when I went to university and iirc Channel 4 lost the coverage.   I've followed a little more over the last few years due to watching Netflix stuff like last chance U, QB, and Receiver.  Currently watching Aaron Rodgers Enigma.

Anyway, great to see Washington win but bittersweet the lions losing, I'd warmed to Amon-Ra from seeing the Netflix stuff.  In fact I wish premier league football players learnt the respect most of the NFL players show!  Could Washington be this year's fodder for Mahone in the superbowl?

Good game last night... Berkeley was outstanding but Stafford still could have won it on the final drive.

I'll be rooting for Philly, my lads team. They are excellent up front, on both side of the ball and will be too much for Wash.

Bills to finally beat KC ... man I hope so, but if they don't, please let KC's win be without any perceived bad ref calls.

.

Another brilliant weekend of football.

I'd like to see KC getting beaten, I just don't think they have played that great this season.

The weather had quite the impact towards the end of the Eagles game, an excellent contest. Kinda felt for Lions RB Gibbs who had a stand out game.

Been really impressed with Washington, their offense had a really strong game

I think it will be an Eagles vs Bills Superbowl, and while I think the Eagles would win, I would like the Bills to win that matchup. But, as a Commanders fan I would love them to get to the superbowl and hopefully face the Bills as we know how our last Superbowl vs the Bills went………

I’d like to see KC getting beaten, I just don’t think they have played that great this season.

It looks like they know exactly how much to put in to get the win for every game. The Bills had a spot of luck that The Ravens didn't turn up to play their usual game.

So, the season has kicked off. It's nice that CH5 has free to air live coverage but not sure that in studio games thing is working for me. Still, free NFL 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, it's the price to pay for free to air full game coverage.
Along with Sam Quek... 🤦‍♂️

Daniels steered them to a good start.  Commanders have got to be one to watch this season.  Deebo coming in and Daniels with more experience.... should be a good offence.  I'm following as I used to be a redskins fan,  but not following super close.... yet.

Yes,  the Netflix on the cowboys is good watching.  I wish the Lewis family would take note.....performance on the pitch is crucial to growing revenues of the 'business '  (I'm a Spurs fan)

It's called 'America's team'.

I also recommend all the last chance U stuff, (Laney college seasons are the best,  but all good) and the 'untold' stuff such as swamp kings.  These give a good understanding of the layers of college football that support the nfl.   It feels like such a good system.

Must admit, 'America's sweethearts ' also worth a watch (follows the cowboys cheer leaders).  If you go down that rabbit hole, 'Cheer'  is a cross between laney last chance U and America's sweethearts.

Checking my watch list...SEC football also excellent (about the south eastern  college league, the layer immediately below nfl), also 'quarterback'  and 'receiver'.... about some of the nfl stars.

Hard knocks is also a good insight to preseason training and player hiring/firing in a drive to survive type way

So what happened in week 2?  All I picked up is that Commanders were roundly beaten on Thursday night and maybe aren't the contenders yet,  and that the chiefs lost.  At 0-2 people are looking at the chiefs and beside mahone asking who is a superbowl worthy player?

Back to winning ways,  and with the stand in qb.  Debo making his mark too.

Exciting ending to the Eagles v the LA Rams with the Eagles special teams stopping two field goal attempts, including one in the last few seconds which would have won it for the Rams, and running the ball back for a touchdown.

Unbelievably the Chargers won a game they shouldn't have. It's normally the other way around, they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

But they scored a late TD, the defense held Denver to a 3 and out and then the special teams kicked a FG in the dying seconds..... Perfect.

3 and 0  ..... I've not seen for 20+ years

Philly look very very good..... 33 total yards offense in 1st half and they still go on to win!!

@rOcKeTdOg A Pyyrhic victory, as their first choice QB has been sidelined due to a nasty injury.

Having had a sudden realisation that live football is on C5, I caught the last quarter of the Pats game yesterday.  Man that was some evil weather.

I then glanced at a "story so far" as I've not paid any attention all season.  I thought that this might be another year where I get to see my team - Broncos, don't judge me - lose in the Superbowl, only to discover that the starting QB has nixed himself.  New England at Denver next week, I'll be astonished if it's not a destruction by the Pats.

Patriots-Seahawks for the SB, then?

Patriots-Seahawks for the SB, then?

I’ve not watched any American Football for years, I hadn’t realised that Ch5 showed it, but I get match reports on my Flipboard feed, and the Seahawks seemed to be doing well, so if they manage to get into the final, I’ll make the effort to watch it.

I used to follow them years back, and also the Ravens to an extent, mainly because I love Ravens and the team have a cool logo.

Last weekend was amazing, the Divisional round is always the best. The late game-tying TD by Chicago was incredible, but it's a cruel game sometimes.

Hard to argue with who's left, Nix's injury notwithstanding you wouldn't be surprised if any of the four won the SB.

Tempted to write off Monday morning and stay up for the LA-Seattle game this Sunday, that's got the potential to be an all-timer.

This season has been amazing with the lack of a clearly-the-strongest team, the NFL must be delighted.

I'm very late discovering this, but the NFL UK & Ireland YouTube channel have a highlights programme with Jason & Osi.
Usually released every Monday following the weekends football; the next one is a preview for Superbowl 60.
It's called The Breakdown.

Next week.  I screwed up.

No worries! I’ve had to check a few times myself when the start of the 6N and the superbowl are scheduled.

If anyone is interested in the business (and history) of the NFL there’s an episode on the ‘acquired’ podcast. Just the 4hrs long!
