MrsMC has been clearing her parents house and has come home with two WW1 general service medals and one from WW2 - presumably belonged to her grandad and a great grandad.
The WW2 one has no ribbon, and the WW1 medals have very grubby ribbons - was wondering if its easy/acceptable to get new ribbons put on them to spruce them up. MCJnr will be getting my dad's medals as well in the future so wanting to keep them all in good order for him. Obviously no value to them as they are the common ones
Have a look for any local 'medal mounting' companies, this doesn't mean framing, more likely if you are close to any garrison or military towns. If not I'm sure you'll be able to get it done by mail, most military personal require their medals 'mounting' at some point
This sounds like something for the repair shop.

I fear they have many more interesting items to go at before they get down to these three medals.
