It's a single speed, but it's got regenerative braking which feeds back in on the uphills so you don't need to pedal as hard. This could mean the end of gears.

Consumer testing has started. Limited numbers are available - one for each significant size town. Your local Halfords should have display models by now. It is expected that they will be sold out by mid-day.

The new eco-subsidy from the government means it can be bought for only £100.

Great, I'm going to stock them along with my new status as Trek concept store. I'm selling off all my "niche" products - Whyte, Mondraker, Pronghorn, Marin are all going, along with my Argon 18, Look and Eddy Merckx road bikes. I've gone all mainstream! 🙁
