All over R6 just now.

Is it just me or is this just a bad Fall copy?

Its not just you. Its terrible!

They should have called it a day a while back, and been remembered for their (very very) decent stuff

Yeah, pretty average. Time's gone...

[edit]6Music probably love it. Perfect programming for them.

They've been playing for several weeks, and I love it to bits. Free download from their site. I suppose there's a touch of the Fall about it, but I hadn't really noticed it until you said. Mark E Smith's wierd vocal tick annoys me, where he over-emphasises and extends the last part of a lyric, and I like very little of their stuff. I'm looking forward to hearing more of the new Pixies stuff, see how it compares with the old.

If I say I like it (although it had to grow on me), will I die?

Plenty said the same when Bossanova came out. And Trompe le Monde.

Seen Black Francis a few times over the years in wedgewood rooms and enjoyed it. This new single however is gash!

Ooh, dodgy comparison. Very dodgy! Those albums were over 20 years ago.

You're not trying to suggest that the new stuff is comparable to Bossanove, are you? With the best will in the world, its not even close!

Which is why calling it a day in 1991 was right...
Coming back 20 years later is not!

It's ok - does sound like the Pixies though, which is a good thing right? J. Santiago has his own style.
