Mainly directed at the battery geeks on here, but Vodafone have told me verbally to charge the battery for 16hrs before using the phone. The manual says 3hrs should be enough. I know that older battery types did require this but I thought this was no longer the case for newer batteries. It is a Lithium-ion battery if that helps.

I charged my new phone last night in about 3 hours.

My new Defy last night came showing 70% and took about an hour and a bit to say full.
