It's probably been up a while, but I did really enjoy Hip-Hop Evolution on Netflix, learned a fair bit too.
Also pleasantly surprised by No Time To Die (on Prime now), best Bond film of this century IMO.
I’ve binged Severance on AppleTV. Really enjoyed its weirdness, shot well and hoping for a season 2.
Funny how we all like different things. I thought No Time To Die was one of the worst Bonds I've seen. Just boring.
Sky next week has series 3 of the awesome (well series 1 was anyway) Barry to look forward to.
Oooh brilliant, take a loose 15.
Severance was the best thing I'd seen for a good while, really well done by Stiller, in the final episode you know what's coming to an extent but the tension build is great.
Outer Range - entertaining but lots of why would you do that, that's just stupid scenes. It's one of those where I wonder if they even know where the show is going out there just making it up as they go along, or they do know where they're going but it'll get cancelled before we ever find out.
Tokyo Vice - very good and a bit of an eye opener into how crimes is treated in Japan if it's anywhere near accurate.
Slow Horses - currently the best thing on, properly gripping right from the get go.

Excellent, thanks for the heads-up. I really admire how Henry Winkler is still doing great work (same with Ted Danson in The Good Place.)

So far, pretty good. I hope it can sustain it (I thought The Ipcress File seemed ok at the beginning, but then it just turned to nonsense at the end.)
Barry is tonight 9:45 Sky Comedy
Watched Boiling Point at the weekend, thought it was very good. That's 'very good' rather than 'really enjoyable', but no complaints. As for the nut thing, it's a classic Hitchcock thing - "in the first act you show a gun on the wall, in the third act you show how it's used" or similar.
Russian Doll was one of my favourite COVID shows, absolutely nailed it in a week; and really looking forward to watching S2 when we've finished Design Masters/ Masterchef/ Narcos Mexico etc.
Also my new "when the wife's out" viewing is The Boys, and quite enjoying it so far. I dabbled in the Catch-22 series but just don't feel particularly compelled to watch it, and the same with Peaky Blinders, so I'm happy to have found a new streaming show that I actually look forward to watching the next episode
If you've not seen it then 'Race' is well worth a viewing
Following Bubba Wallace, the only black driver in NASCAR, with its liking for confederate flags, at the time of the BLM movement
Severance was the best thing I’d seen for a good while, really well done by Stiller
Yes I really like his style, I loved Secret life of Walter Mitty, now this, I must look up and see what else he’s made.
I got on to Severance as something to fill the gaps between Slow Horses episodes, another great show
BCS s6 ep3 (Rock and a Hard place) was absolutely blinding.
Scripting at its best with minimal dialogue and max suspense.
Ozark S4 part 2 today.
Anatomy of a Scandal.
Just binged (6 hr long episodes) that on Netflix. Recommended if you like UK court dramas with a healthy dose of Tory bashing 😉
Twenty Five Twenty One
Drama about a young Korean fencer and her trials and tribulations. Really enjoying it.
We enjoyed CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) on Apple TV+ which lived up to it’s Oscar wins. Although the story is nothing earth shattering, it’s well acted with some great individual performances. Nice feel good movie.

… and you don’t mind it hanging on a truly ludicrous plot twist!!
Just started Taboo - good so far, and Jessie Buckley is good as ever.
And on Apple TV there is Slow Horses which is watchable tosh. Finished season 1, and there are 5 more books to go. Also on Apple TV is Shining Girls with Elisabeth Moss
Anyone have a clue what Moonknight was supposed to be about?
Anyone have a clue what Moonknight was supposed to be about?
Yes. Egyptian gods battling each other with a sub-plot around mental health issues. It's not that complicated.
Ok....not Netflix again but as far as great films go...I give you " the outfit"
Flippin loved this. Interesting "mob noir" with mark rylance as lead.
Pretty sure I’m not the target demographic but watched and quite enjoyed ‘Heartstopper’
… and you don’t mind it hanging on a truly ludicrous plot twist!!
Oh I don't know...that plot twist wasn't anywhere near the most ludicrous I've been subjected to!
New Bosch! And We Own This City and The Staircase look interesting.
What channel/service is We Own The City on please?
We own this city looks like it’s sky (Atlantic??) in June

Yup,gave a few episodes a spin then had the feeling I was being ambushed by a reboot of LOST 🙂
Been watching Babylon Berlin on Sky Atlantic...set in the Weimar Republic.. Very enjoyable if a bit complicated with lots of characters and threads..
I'm on series 2 of 3 at moment but apparently there's a 4th series coming soon
Is it just me, or has the new Bosch only got 4 episodes available?
My Prime was showing Ep.1-4 available from 6th May, Ep. 5 on 20th May, Ep. 7-10 on 6th May. No Ep.6 🥴
I'd be surprised if it's not been mentioned, but I'm two episodes from the end of Mr Robot. It's really, really good. One of the best things I've watched in a while. I think I've enjoyed it more than Better Call Saul. BD Wong is absolutely magnificent in it, and deserved way more screen time. I'm quite sad that there aren't going to be more series.
Just seen a trailer for das boot series 3. Can't really remember what happened at the end it the last series, but don't think I was expecting another one.
Secure series of Russian doll was good, even more bonkers than the first.
Just started on the staircase, should be good but I feel it would be better watching the dreams first before the documentary which we've already seen.
Whatched the trailer for house of the dragon as well. I'll watch it I'm sure, but all I could think was it looks bloody dark. I know they only had candles in the olden days, but this is a made up olden days, they could pretend that candles were brighter!
Not Netflix (apologies) - I've been enjoying SKY Comedy's BARRY. Dark comedy about a depressed hitman.
I’d be surprised if it’s not been mentioned, but I’m two episodes from the end of Mr Robot.
It finished before there was a pandemic.
Slow horses: excellent, really enjoyed it.
Gary Oldman was brilliant..... he was playing George Smiley's younger, smellier, swearier brother. Loved it.
Slow horses: excellent, really enjoyed it.
Yep.
The King of Staten Island is worth a watch on Netflix now.
Best thing I've seen from Judd Apatow in years. Just a nice, slow, slacker comedy/drama with a really good cast.

Right. Ta. Didn't fancy trawling through nearly 60 pages of posts.
I’d be surprised if it’s not been mentioned, but I’m two episodes from the end of Mr Robot. It’s really, really good.
Mr Robot is utterly, utterly brilliant.
Just started watching 'Severance' on Apple TV, interesting and quirky with a very dark undertone... Has great ratings.
Enjoying “Shining girls” on Apple. No idea what’s happening but good all the same.
BBC iPlayer has a short series called MOOD - I think I started watching cos mm hot lady! but it was superb. Has a music bit in each episode (R&B/Rap style) which some fogies won't enjoy 😉 . But the story is great. About said lady trying to make it in the music biz.
Mr Robot: "Your server has a virus, you need to REBOOT before the HACKERS get ahold!!" For some reason, I didn't find that very thrilling so logged off after 1 episode
We Own This City on HBO is good if you want to see David Simon make a based on true story corrupt cop drama.
Edit: Based on this case

Has anyone watched Taboo with Tom Hardy. I very much enjoyed that, quite dark and grubby.
Watched the series about Bubba Wallace, the only black NASCAR driver. Bit of an eye opener. Not just about the whole racial inequality in a sport born in the deep south, but also about NASCAR itself. I thought they were just driving around in circles with not a lot of skill, but I've changed my veiw on that now. It's like being tailgated at 180mph with the car an inch off your rear bumper.
I thought they were just driving around in circles with not a lot of skill,
No, those things are ****ing scary. They run at 200 mph in a pack and tend to get airbourne when they get sideways. Also, the tracks aren't circular they have straights and turns, it's just that the turns are all in the same direction and are taken at massive speed.

Jeez.... That top clip is terrifying!
Just to up the fun factor a bit they cover some of the tracks in earth which either turns to mud if it's wet or dust if it's dry. Madness. Big respect to the drivers.
Just watched Metal Lords and really enjoyed it.
It's about a couple of teens who want to win battle of the bands at their school.
Some good cameos from Rob Halford and others.
If you watch it with kids, there's a bit of swearing in it.
Love swearing, hate heavy metal. It's probably not for me 😀
