As we're all such a cultured bunch, lets mark the day with your favourite poems then.
I absolutely love this. Not just because its an incredibly beautiful use of the English language, but It was my (former RAF engineer) Uncle Pete's favourite poem. Sadly he is no longer with us, and he's missed. I used to got to all the airshows with when I was a kid. Still reminds me of him

Careful. MWSmith will be along to tell you your mind is stuck in the 70s. Or Cougar will suggest that you're really 5 years old or somesuch...
I chose this for my wife on our wedding day, in reflection that while i am quite caring and compassionate as an individual I don't necessarily show it outwardly as much as i should (does that make sense? I really can feel others worries and sorrows, but I'm largely unable to articulate that i am feeling them)
Flowers
Some men never think of it.
You did. You’d come along
And say you’d nearly brought me flowers
But something had gone wrong. The shop was closed. Or you had doubts –
The sort that minds like ours
Dream up incessantly. You thought
I might not want your flowers. It made me smile and hug you then.
Now I can only smile.
But, look, the flowers you nearly brought
Have lasted all this while.
