Got the van back today with poptop and roof bed fitted:

5 seats, fits bikes in whole and sleeps 2 in comfort. I feel the need for a biking roadtrip ๐Ÿ™‚

I'd take more pictures, but I'm away working in London and the van is back home in Cheltenham. The missus picked it up and sent me that pic.

I agonised over the choice between a Reimo and an SCA roof. Went with the SCA in the end, fitted by Banwy vans. Haven't inspected it up close yet, but t'missus says it is a lovely job ๐Ÿ™‚

5 seats,.... sleeps 2 in comfort

Now that is the thing I cannot get past with these smaller vans. I presume you need an awning or tent in addition when with family of 5?

My family is me and her with another on the way... family trips will be us, plus the sprog, plus all our kit - plan is for the sprog to sleep in a standard travel cot in the back

Trips with mates are normally 5 plus bikes, plus kit - they can bring their own tents and I sleep in luxury.

I think if you're a family of 5 and you want to all sleep inside, you're going to have to get something larger than a transporter, or get some canvas on the go too. For us, this is perfection ๐Ÿ™‚

Dave

edit: and it is awesome for day trips ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nice Alfabus!

I've got a VW California Beach (la-de-dah) similar but shorter to OPs but without the conversion anguish and it seats+sleeps 4 OR seats 6. That way we can have days out with the olds and weekends / holidays with the kids. Also like OP top for a day out with kids or bikes and lining up a few days with bikes, boots and maybe ropes in Scotland for September.

Out of interest has it added much weight to the van, and does it drive differently?
