Shading is a possibility Rik.

It's not straight cos my thigh isn't.

What's that then? You've had numerous goes at me, never understood why, I've given you plenty of helpful advice.

Robz - Member
Why did you start your initial post with "Hope you like" then?

Did I say "I really want to hear if you don't, or don't have a clue"?

Oh and jekyl it's a Specialized Ground Control, there were few other tyres in the late 80s

What did you expect?

I travel all over Europe specifically to get tattooed by certain people. I have a clue.

I didn't actually criticise your design by the way, I just noted that the technical application was poor. I can explain further if you wish.

The actual concept for the tattoo is fun.

Nope. Tattoos don't have to be meaningful.

(I have lots of tattoos)

That's why I don't have any then. Cos I would have to have something meaningful. They're so personal though, it's down to whoever has em. I mean, I can't for the life of me understand getting a tattoo that you can't see yourself (eg. on your back)! Then surely you are just getting them for other people to see ... Maybe. Nah, I can't pretend to understand...

That's usually how it goes.

I rather like it, FWIW.

Took a few seconds to parse the image, I quite like it, it has significance to the person who has it, and I’ve seen very, very much worse.
I’ve got some, they may be to some people’s taste, they may not, but I couldn’t give a shit what others think, they have significance to me.

I like it. It does have a free hand quality about it but I don’t think that’s a bad thing at all. I sometimes get a bit bored with generic shading and much prefer one offs.

I thought that too!

Personally,i like the naivety of it though.

That said,i recently said too my son, "be original, don't have any tattoos."

Not my thing (tatts)but they do no-one any harm do they?

Live and let live.

I'm sorry, I genuinely cant tell what it is meant to be other than a kind of 'bracelet' design of sorts.

If it is meant to be a tyre, I cant get its perspective, there are knobblies all over the side, top, everywhere...

Who cares though, its your body, your tattoo, if you think its good that's all that matters.

I like the idea. A tyre track down the back of the calf could be cool. It probably looks better in the flesh the photo probably doesn't do it justice.

My thighs would need 29er tyres!!

Inexact...I drew that on a PC (MS Paint, obvs), the tattooist hand-drew one initially that was way different. Maybe a daytime pic will do it justice.

I quite like it, bit different n all.

Anyway, that's not a bad tat. I know bad tats. I won the worst tattoo contest at SSUK '13, so I know what I'm on about 🙂

Well I quite like it.

Would have gone for Minion myself, but it's a cool distinctive tread pattern. I don't see what all the grumbling is about, plenty of people have horrible tattoos, this is more original and interesting.

Hmm, what I meant was that most tattoos are rubbish, and that one's somewhere between inoffensive and mildly interesting.

What I do wonder is how many regret the genetic tribal tattoos that were all the rage?

If I were to have a tat it would be a one off like the OP's.

Thank's for clearing up what it was, that was really bugging me.

Have always fancied a tat, somewhere only I can see but i will never make my mind up what i'd like to see every day.

Hope it keeps making you smile for many years to come.

Well, it's generated a lot more interest than most other tattoos. I like that fact. It's certainly unique, which makes a change nowadays...

If that’s on your thigh, just above the knee.
Then from anything other than close up, it will look like one of those lacy thigh garters brides wear.

I like the design, nice and quirky. Not a tattoo person myself, as I’d worry I would get tired of it.
What I don’t understand, is if you now intend to always shave that part of your leg?

I think it's pretty good, and I generally only come here for the bants.

You weren't tempted by a panaracer Smoke /Dart combo though? That's old school
