my grandad was staying with us when i was young one christmas. one morning he told us of a dream he had where he was a baby in a cot with two women in summer dresses over looking him, and they looked shocked or scared/horrified. He described the dresses and the detail of the room in amazing detail. Roll on a couple of years and he is visiting again during the summer. Anyway, the two old women he met in the dream are walking down the street wearing the same dresses he had described. After a bit of a strange conversation, they described how they had visited the same room, 10 years before, where there had been a baby in the cot, who was not at all well. Non of us new about this, or had met the either of the women before.
a friend at 6th form college lived in an old cottage hospital on the edge of the moors, there were numerous stories of people going for a glass of water late at night and chatting to the other people staying in the house that night (big house, lots of guests after parties etc with various children/other family members). Often there were more guests than could be accounted for, especially older residents. chatty ghosts.
Are there any single good looking female ghosts?
Worked in a pub which was claimed to be haunted but saw bugger all scary (well aside from the landlords dogs). In another where I worked just Christmas (Wetherspoons ex Playhouse) again there were claims but beyond the cellar being a bit cold (no shit!) sod all. Well aside from one after hours drinks where we went up into the upper circles seats which had been left as they were (not open to the public) and were having some beers with a cd player plugged down in the bar which started skipping. Ohhh scary and definitely supernatural (was annoying though).
I have been in a couple of places where I have got completely freaked out and bailed but given a choice of ghosts or just something triggering the "what was that" reflex which not finding anything goes into overdrive I would go for the latter.
Anyone who has spent time out at night in one spot just looking out knows that the tree will suddenly change into a person or something after an hour or so.
A while back I had a chat with someone who claimed I was just blind to all this shit and explained how since they were a sensitive enlightened type they would see things that I was incapable of doing.
Whilst they may have been correct I quickly established their knowledge of local history was absolutely crap and that the area they lived in certainly counted for having more than its share of death and extreme emotion. Their house was just down the road from the old gallow site and also on the site of at least one battlefield (war of the roses and then probably a Roman one as well).
I may have ruined their ability to sleep at night when I started asking if they could get the ghosts to answer a few questions especially about the Roman battle.
I have never had any experiences but an ex colleague and a friend who dont know each other and had never met both came back form trips to a particular bothy with spooky tale.
I had discounted the first tale as nonsense/noises travelling or something but when another story comes along it does make you think!
