Seriously, ho much cash do Hollywood think that pub makes as a result of it's movie franchise - idiots! It's been called that for 20 years, it's not exactly wealthy judging by the state of it. I think this calls for the common sense police, oh wait they don't exist, well that's not very sensible is it!

I used to go there and Jesters/Clowns at uni. Can't say I'd go back to the Clowns or Jesters again even if paid but I have been to the Hobbit. It's not a GOOD pub but the cease and desist is stupid.
Aggressive protection of intellectual property rights is often wrong and I generally would side with the little guy if it causes no detriment. However, this is a Lord of the Rings themed pub, I think this is one of those cases where I would be willing to lose the battle to win the war

The outright commercial whoring of it does seem to sour a bloody story.
But thats the way of the world and they should of picked a different name.
