[Closed] Music that reminds you of getting into mountain biking...
For some reason, both [url=
Underground - Templehead and [url=
The Bass - Winter in July always make me think of going to the bula-hatted Malverns in 1991... Anything by the KLF evokes MBUK:the rave years... and I will forever associate the marvellous Twin Peaks soundtrack with rides to the far side of Mendip (i.e. where the woods are not all that they seem).
Meanwhile... if Shimano 200GS (my first, uhh, groupset) was an album, it would be Schubert Dip by EMF.
Jesus Jones, anyone? Genuine bike related link as well!
Jesus Jones, anyone?
Yup - them too. ๐
Blood Sugar Sex Magik by the RHCPs, and London Beat for some bizarre reason
Corduroy, sneaker pimps: chainspotting soundtrack or is it tracks and stunts?
wutang: 36 chambers Tricks and stunts 2
Anything off the Dirt Soundtrack (i LOVED that song with the line "...and when the clouds fly over the sea...").
For me it's that amazing breakbeat mix of "Milk" by Garbage on Chainspotting where Matrin Hawes is hopping about on the beach.
Brilliant mix, never managed to get hold of a decent quality version of it tho.
thinks back to '97............................britney spears?
stuff on my walkman/mp3 player would have been led zeplin, sweatshop union and oasis.
Cant remember that far back.
Fat Boy Slim - Right here, right now
Not right when I started (about 5 years in actuallty) but the theme for a brilliant weekend riding on the Gower. We played it every time we got back into the car after yet another excellent ride. ๐
[url=
Wiedlin - "Rush Hour"
reminds me of religiously cleaning my first mountainbike whilst Southern Sound played the hits of the day on a 20 minute loop
Screamager - Therapy
Just awesome - reminds me of razzing (did anyone else do that) about to our different haunts on a Sunday morning on my Diamonback Topanga!
World of twist - Sons of the stage.
Played very loud, all the way to Wales to ride there for the first time - flashing the light on the passenger sun visor in time to the beat whilst passing cans of Super Naughty between cars/arses out of the windows etc.
The stupidity of youth eh?
Razzing yes! Sceamager yes!
*cues Troublegum on spotify*
Defo EMF.
Retro83 yep know what you mean. I found it on a compilation called Crush, has a picture of a love heart (sweetie type) on the cover. Unfortunately can't find it on net or in my collection ๐ Somebody must have 'borrowed' it.

Ahh, fond memories of when life was carefree ๐

D'oh
Rage Against The Machine. Awesome in 1993, still awesome now.
Song i remember was that daft song, doop doop...out about 15yrs ago...always remember it being on the wireless on one of my first rides in the lakes...aaahhhh...memories!
Troublegum and RATM...YES YES YES, may I add Copper Blue and Beaster by Sugar to the list of loud music for the drive to a ride.
Plus early Charlatans, Roses, Mondays etc..ohh and the Soup Dragons.
More recently some of the mixing of music with riding on Sprung 2 and 3 was ace, africa bambataa(sp?), herbaliser etc
The Shamen - Progen, from the En-Tact LP. Quality.
U2 - Even better than the real thing . . . 'take me hiiiiigher' ๐
seems like a good thread to post this link which i found recently, very handy for expanding my mtb movie playlist on the ipod.
Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine and for some unknown reason Boomania by Betty Boo back in the days of the Raleigh Maverick
Danzig-Lucifuge
Spermbirds-Truth of Today
NMA-Thunder & consolation.
I was in Germany at the time working on a site living with several KrautPunx.
Early 90s reminds me of:
Supergroove
Shihad
Push Push
Exponents
Muttonbirds
Head like a hole
There were some awesome bands in NZ then.
Travis - "Why does it always rain on me?"
