Ok so it's a warm sunny day and people are rolling to some phat beats, but being an analytical type I think I've made a scientific breakthrough.
If :
Q is the perceived quality of music
V is the volume its played at
N is the number of window sized openings in the car (sunroof counts as 3, convertible 100l
k is a universal constant corresponding to the volume at which MC Gangsta's latest rhymes are barely audible outside a fully closed car
Then :
Q = k / V^-2(N+1)
FACT.
SATS week?
Q - perceived by whom?
Addition factors to consider: location of vehicle (beauty spot / traffic jam / outside my house). Potential aggro involved in politely asking said twerp to STF up.
But generally I agree with you. It's long been a fantasy of mine to hire a car with a proper meathead stereo and drive slowly around town blasting out Boredoms / Penderecki / Einstürzende Neubauten as least appropriate.
Isn't listening to music whilst driving distracting ?
