Check out Sonos. www.sonos.com Multi room individually controlled wireless players that will stream Spotify without the PC, self contained speakers or ones to drive external speakers.

Not cheap but simple to use and very effective.

I was making the assumption that you had standard HiFi gear.

Sonos works well once you get the wireless part set up...which isn't always easy! I think some of their speakers have sockets for cat5 though if that was an option.
Will work with internet radio,iTunes,spotify etc and can have separate music and output volume to each speaker.

Sonos is the best / easiest ssytem i think. Ive previously used the sony equivalent that is better for things with a line in and significantly cheaper. If you decide to go the sony route ive got an ns410 speaker here for sale.

I reckon your sonos stuff will last about 3 months in a shop environment. Technophobes should also be able to operate it so keep networking out the way! A wee multi channel amp or 2 would be more robust. Just daisy chain (or not) the inputs from the source. Saves running mains to all the speaker positions as well.

All of their units have a network port.At least one needs to be plugged in to the router.
I found the setup simple, creates its own wireless network with a single button press and you're away.

This, cheap, simple, spend as much or as little on speakers as you like. buy some cheap off ebay and paint the cabinets to match the shop.
