Maybe they'll finally get round to solving Cerys Matthews' case from 1998

Few nice nods to the old show there. Mulder with his pencils (Chinga), Scully inheriting another small dog ("reminds me of Queequeg"), and Kim Manners' gravestone.

Yeah the whole series far has been good at linking back but also taking the piss out of its self, especially last weeks.

just watched the monster one.

I dont get the point of bringing the x-files back if they're going to do that kind of stuff.
Yes it was very funny, but where was the suspension of disbelief? A spoof with a twist is not drama.

It was the dramatic plausibility that made the series work. This doesnt.

I still remember buying tow cases of Murphies stout, and my brother and I drawing the curtains and doing a 20hour x-files marathon one summer c.'94. Great days. Great series.

They've done lighthearted ones before though.

As Drac said, it's not the fist time they've done spoof/amusing ones before. I think it provides some light relief just as it seems to be taking itself a little too seriously.

Rhys Darby is a brilliant actor though, loved him in Flight of the Conchords.

Weremonster was brilliant. Also really enjoyed episode 4, loved the woman getting murdered while Petula Clark was playing. Apparently Hulu leaked episode 5 last night, so a few people got to see it before it was taken down. Sounds like it might be a bit different.
