Trying to work out what it will cost for the move (if I dare take the plunge).
£325k house so:
£9750 stamp duty
£3,600 estate agents fees on current house sale (they charge 1% +VAT round our way)
£2k solicitors/searches etc (is this about right????)
£800 removal fees.
Anything else I need to allow for????

I would say your removal fees are a little low. When we moved 4 years ago it cost us about £1200. This was with the removal company doing the packing for a 3 bed semi moving 1 mile.
I think all the other costs are about right and I don't think there are any more. I nearly cried when I had to pay £9k in stamp duty, £9k just because you want to improve your living!
