I bet there are a few bookies in Leicester having sleepless nights just with the 1/5000 they offered on them to win it!

Oh well, never mind!

I know its become a cliche, but the soul has completely gone in the Prem. It's a horrid spectacle on many levels.

Yes - it's a classic example of the subjective nature of the word 'best'. Yes, it probably is the 'best' soccer league in the world, but it is not the 'best' thing for the future of the game itself.

As it ever was..............

Utd didn't want him because of his previous '2 years of success then big fall-out' history with every club he's managed

However, as a Utd fan it pains me to say he might not be a bad choice for the rest of the season. Utd's defence is so poor their only chance is when the midfield defend. They've got this down to a tee with LVG but can't figure out the scoring on the break bit. I think Jose could get this working well with Young, Martial and Depay up front.

Something major has obviously gone wrong with the dressing room at Chelsea. BBC reporting that he's left by mutual consent rather than be sacked, which is interesting

Not very interesting really.... It's a face saving statement. The last thing he would have wanted is to leave with this stain on his record.

All started to go wrong when he hung the club doctor out to dry . Can't stand him but he is good value in terms of headlines , he track record is amazing , and will win things wherever he goes next . PSG would suit him I think, back with Zlatan and David Luis .

It has however been the most inept defense of a title holding team and he had to go and a lovely little failure on his CV. Brilliant!!!! #thesackedone

ManU. For the seasons I quoted above Mourinho is absoluteky not a ManU style manager, he is (was) functional rather than stylish. Clubs want to play like Barca, no one aspires to play like a Mourinho side.

I am sure those at Arsenal will be having a good chuckle, the Sacked One was forever baiting Wenger and look now who's sacked for diabolical performance on fhe field.

Abramovich has apparently spent £71m paying off sacked managers! 😯

Bad decision in my opinion. He's one of the best managers in the world and I disagree that his teams are dull and overly defensive. Look at how many goals his Chelsea title winning sides scored. Sure, he'll park the bus if he wants a result, but it's a results based business, and he gets results, although he's clearly lost the current crop of players. Won't be any shortage of offers for his services.

Whatever you want to describe Man u s a counter attacking team on the break is not it

We play possession[ at all costs and to the detriment of flair and creativity] football. We are easy to defend against as we do it so slowly and sideways and backwards that it easy to get organised against us and stifle the one or two players who may actually score.

We control the possession within games we dont win them

I hope we sack him as his system has seen its day/wont work in the EPL

If only the toon had got their finger out and sacked McLaren Roman could have hired him to complete the circle of misery.

Agree with Junkyard about United, it's like michael carrick has infested the entire squad

And after he worked so hard to earn the money in the first place...

Damn! Just heard the news! FFS why? I ain't no footie supporter even I cannot believe they fired him.

He just re-joined Chelsea after a period of time somewhere and they think there is a miracle?

It's not him it's the bloody lousy players he inherited upon returning to Chelsea.

Look at the Magpie at the Toon ... we have a clown as a Manager, a clown! This bloke has a track record so bad I bet we are going to be relegated soon. Serve them right for having a clown as Manager. I wonder if we can have Mourinho as our manager ... 😛

edit: oh ya ... the woman field doctor whatever or whoever she is ... she should be fired. End off. Woman know you place! (ya, ya, sexist all that but the bottom line is that she overstepped the manager ... she is NOT the person in-charged.)

Having read in an earlier post that the club doctor is entwined with one of the first team players, who currently seems completely disinterested in playing, my impression is that JM played that particular situation naively and incompetently. Perhaps JM has/had the hots for the club doctor? Love triangles are not exactly new ground at that club after all 😀

I'd give the Chelsea job to Harry Redknapp.

I have been looking forward to this for months.

My dream was that Don Ranieri would deliver the killer blow to complete the circle.

**** off Jose

If the players refuse to play then there is nothing the manager can do. And players thinking they know best and that they are more important than the manager is nothing new.I wonder how many Leeds fans to this day wonder where they would be today if their players had decided that it might just be worth giving Brian Clough a chance.

Guus Hiddink has arrived in the UK and is currently at a London hotel holding discussions with the Chelsea hierarchy. He is yet to sign a contract, but is leaving that to his advisors while he talks about the technical aspects involved in helping Chelsea out of their perilous position. He will be the new manager on an interim basis.

Not a huge surprise. Wonder if he'll stick around this time.
