He has been on the podium 6 times, with a 2nd tier team. Smith and Reddings results need to match that first.
weeksy - MemberDo I need to copy and paste his results on the tech3 bike?
No, you don't.
2011 - beaten by Colin Edwards
2012 - beaten by Andrea Dovizioso
2013 - beats Bradley Smith
Go go Danny Kent 😆
And now Sam Lowes brilliant 😆
I'm so pleased for Lowes after all the dramas and nearlys.
Daffuq's happened to Carol Vordermans hair?! She looks like she should be in a Motley Crue tribute band!!
Well, here's the chance for Crutchlow to show his stuff. No pressure on the Brits, eh? 🙂
Marquez back to his brilliant best, I mean who was really going to beat him- he officially owns this place!
Brilliant day for the Brits- what a race for Sam Lowes- bashed up good and proper. Trooper!
The shot of Rossi's tyre at the end says it all.
Smith let his results do the talking again.
Felt sorry for Redding - anyone reckon the pressure got to him?
I think Rossi will be delighted with 3rd at a track that doesn't suit the Yamaha.
Great day for the Brits in Moto2 and 3. 🙂
I wonder if Stoner will get persuaded to ride shotgun for Marquez?
Not a bad day for wsb either.
Smith does Gobby 😆
Dovi and the Ducati very impressive
No way Stoner is coming back.

...No way Stoner is coming back.
Isn't he doing the Suzuka 8 Hour - or do I have that wrong?
Yes I think he is but I should say he isn't coming back to MotoGP
He's said he wanted to yesterday but Honda said no.

I wondered why he hadn't been slotted in.

Honda speak for he isn't quick enough or would cause a bit of disharmony?
I suspect they didn't want a potential rival for Marquez, even temporarily. Or maybe the Marquez camp vetoed it.
What a ****ing win for Rossi! Beast of a ride.
What a **** win for Rossi! Beast of a ride.
Indeed. Brilliant stuff from the Master.
Marquez lost his rag - he knew his goose was cooked but didn't want to let it go and crashed as a result. If he'd just let it happen he could have settled for second and 20pts instead of nothing.
Good last lap by Critchlow to get 3rd.
OMFG 😯 just a magician
Masterclass!
Awesome*
*It'd be churlish to mention tyres.
The GOAT.
😀 That performance by Vale finished off a great day of couch potato motor sport for me.
On a sadder note I hope James Puttrell and Jordy de Jonge are going to be ok following a nasty looking crash in the BSB Supersport 600 race. Was a bit too similar to the Marco Simoncelli crash for my liking 😥
Crutchlow reminds me of Gardner. Prepared to stuff a bike where it shouldn't go and take the consequences.
That last pass was a perfect example. Classic. 🙂
Rossi was magnificent, calculating. Bided his time then put the pressure on Marquez at the right time. Although Marquez fell he showed why he is so good - he's not prepared to settle for second best, although he'll be regretting that now.
In Moto3 it's impressive to watch Kent establish such long leads. I don't remember seeing such gaps for a long time. He's one for the future.
So this Rossi fella... Is he still past it in the eyes of all the haters ? LOL.
Crutchlow needs to park the 'hard done by' nonsense - he's coming off as a bit of a tool.
Weeksy - I'm by no means a Rossi fan, but to answer your specific point, but he has had to adapt his riding style and attitude to the new bikes and youger riders coming through, so it could be argued its not exactly the same.
Gobby always comes off as a tool due to his constant whingeing 😆
Excellent piece on AMA Soup comparing Rossi at age 36 with some of the other all time greats as they got older.
Yes a good piece but slightly flawed by not even mentioning Agostini who was around Rossi's current age at his last GP and won a whole heap of World Champioships in different classes.
Marquez injured after an MX bike crash, surgery on hand just before Jerez which is a hard working circuit (although at their level they're all hard of course )

Different time, different circumstances, this was back when you could win 2-3 championships in a season if you were like Ago.

True and you could probably drink champagne BETWEEN races rather than just after them!
Agree with matt24k that Ago was worth a mention but it was still pretty interesting that most of them were burned up well before 36. I think Rossi's ability to not crash has helped his longevity and also his collection of titles.
It will be interesting to see how Marquez responds to being under some real pressure with those recent setbacks.
I thought at the end of last season he was showing some vulnerabilities. It's a question of can Rossi put a wee wedge in there and keep him worried? (I reckon he will handle it)
This is going to be a very interesting season... 🙂
The point could come where no matter what Marquez does he can't finish ahead of Rossi.
Lets say hypothetically he gets a 4th this weekend (due to injury) and Rossi wins.... Rossi is already 30 points ahead.... which would make it 45 or so...
If Rossi can keep picking up 2nd/3rd even when Marquez is winning, then that's a tough gap for Marquez to close.

+1
Never good when they don't replay the crash.
Danny Kent - there's a potential MotoGP champ. A thinking man with speed.
Crutchlow - another good result. I'm warming to him, I like his attitude. He knew he wouldn't catch Rossi and he had a buffer on behind so he thought he'd play with his settings to see what happened. That's knowledge that will pay off - it's one thing in practise, but to be able to do it during a race is another thing. He's doing all the right things if Honda need a Number 2 if Danni doesn't hold up.
Marquez as usual. 🙂
Rossi - thought he might have made it, but he's obviously already thinking of the season rather than risking an off for a few points. The master.
Good to see Lorenzo back on form.
Any word on Ono the LeoPard rider? - that looked serious. The other rider behaved like an arsehole considering the bloke he was blaming looked unconscious, and he didn't make a move to help him.
Such a shame that Moto3 and Moto2 are good races but MotoGP was a yawn fest.

The front end was like watching cricket, but further back it was rugby league... 🙂
Just watched the recording ....why has Jorge 2 knee sliders on his right and only 1 on left ..?
are the motoGP vids available online? Youtube only has poor quality copies.
@singlecrack I think its likely that 8/13 corners are right hand ones

Could be due to asymmetric tyres too, so more grip/lean on one side than the other.
Possibly. ...but none of the other riders seem to be doing it ..
