Destined! maybe, but died before he achieved them so being destined doesn't count. Not seen brokeback, but his joker was a mess and only a claimed because of his death. He has been in films I have enjoyed, but nothing special about his performances, his parts could have been played by many actors to the same standard.

watch brokeback then, IWGAFATS its an amazing performance.
Joker was a great take, eratic and unpredictable, totally insane yet somehow likeable.
He had produced numerous excellent performances in a short space of time, hence his destiny was to become a great..
Just my opinion.

OK kids here's some FATCs by way of a few examples, I'll have forgotten plenty:

Carey - amazing straight actor, irritating in comedy to me but I am big enough to admit he's done OK. Just like Williams
Clooney - great in lots of films, directed well also.
Pacino - good but overrated IMO.
Brendan Gleeson - see the Guard and In Bruges.
Alec Guiness - Bridge over River Kwai.
Peter O'Toole - Lawrence of Arabia.
Tom Somebody - In The Bedroom
Nicholson - The Pledge

De Niro - KING - just watch Raging Bull. If you don't understand, then watch it again.

George "I'm so Pretty" Clooney - who's only really any good in Oh Brother...

And Michael Clayton? Great film.

John Hannah is a shockingly rubbish actor IMO, but as far as I know nobody thinks he's good either, so can't be considered overrated. (Same as Reeves, Carey, Clooney etc).

Owen Wilson and that bloke in Avatar and clash of the titans. Both terrible actors.

I also think Al Pacino is very over-rated.

The actor most overated by the industry is Will Ferrell, as a ratio of dollars paid in fees to dollars taken at the box office he gives the worst return

that bloke in Avatar

I couldnt agree more

The actor most overated by the industry is Will Ferrell

I couldnt agree less.

Id give a kidney to hit the boulevard with Ferrell for a night, he makes me larrf so hard.
And here's a few comments from reviewers of his latest (serious) movie, Everything Must Go:
''Will Ferrell delivers a performance of implosive intensity that rings true in every detail.''
''If he isn't careful, Will Ferrell is going to become a bona fide actor.''
''Ferrell is far more impressive in a straighter role ... as he controls his own brand of zaniness and channels it as bittersweet irony and humour into ordinary events.''
''anchored by a fine performance from Ferrell in a role that required a surfeit of subtleties.''
''Ferrell steps more fully and confidently into dramatic terrain''

I came here to add Michael Clayton, but I've been beaten to it.
