It's clearly not "all in the public domain" if you are only selectively quoting one line from it.

But this is all getting very silly now and i regret my part in this daft escalation.

Christ on a ****ing bike. Really? Fine.

I sent

"That is incorrect, read back through the thread, Squirrelking started the slagging off after I made some excellent suggestions."

I never slagged any of them, I simply said they were inappropriate given the thread brief. I even endorsed one of them at least twice.

Get your facts straight and stop making up lies to paint yourself as a victim because I will not put up with your pathetic bullshit. Stop it. Now.

He replied:

I can read, so can others. No lies, straight fact. Now you're sending private messages because you realise your behaviour displeased. Your message here is bullying. Keep it public where everyone can see how unpleasant you are.

You clearly have a complex about me. We'll never get on, Mr nuclear versus Mr sobriété energetique. Committed European versus little Scotlander. But you don't seem to be able to ignore my posts.

Nromally when people use the message system it's to dialog, but you're just doubling down on the bullying and ordering me arround, legally that's harrassment. Once I've sent this I'll click block user.

And lastly I replied with:

No, you're the one throwing insults about and slandering me with your lies. You're the one constantly referring to things I've supposedly said so perhaps if we want to bring up harassment we should let the mods decide.

As for what everyone else can see, don't kid yourself that anyone with any sense can't see through your sad provications and lies.

FWIW I was perfectly civil in my initial reply and it was you who got nasty. As per the time before that and the time before that. It's almost like you thrive on the drama. Troll indeed, some folk never change.

@cougar, @molgrips and everyone else I'm sorry this pathetic nonsense has made it's way into another thread, for my part I should have known better than to engage with a known troll.

I'd rather not reply to this idiocy but I won't have my name constantly libelled and harassed as Ed has done over multiple threads and years. I'm trying to be a better person but some people on here make it really hard, why he is still allowed to be a member when he causes nothing but hassle is a mystery to me as I know for a fact I'm not the only person he has harassed in this way. Anyway, I'll leave it at that, feel free to report this and all the other nonsense and hopefully we can get these topics cleaned up.

Apologies to all again.

Anyway, back on topic.

Is Who Killed Captain Alex too obscure? Was definitely a meme a few years ago. I tried watching it once but it was too nuts to keep up with what was going on between the plot and the VJ's voice over.

District 9
Chappie
Elysium (seemingly the poorer of the 3 but I liked it)

District 13 (the French one that started the whole parkour craze)

Ring (japanese ones) series, just scrapes in at 1998?

Is [...] too obscure?

My point really was 'films it'd be surprising that others hadn't seen' so if you have to ask that then yes. 😁

Also,

Is Chappie good, then? That was on my to-watch list forever ago and it'd completely fallen out of my head until you mentioned it just now.

Chappie is brilliant, if you liked District 9 then you'll probably like it too. I only watched it in the last 6 months and was shocked it had escaped me for so long. Think Short Circuit put through a Blomkamp filter and the silliness taken out.

Are these supposed to be a trilogy then?

We should probably include Andy Samberg in this thread somewhere, but I’m not sure which film?

Hot Rod - has some excellent lines in there, plus Isla Fisher

Chappie's really good, I mean it's literally just Short Circuit Only Horrible but it works. The casting's inspired, let's just have Die Antwoord in this thing being basically themselves...

Right, I'm going to fly the flag for the Marvel films. Not all of them, but, the best ones are standing the test of time pretty well and there's basically never been anything like it in cinema in terms of linked storytelling, big arcs, etc, from the trivial attention to detail stuff to the big beats. It's a shame there's no real consistency of quality but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater

Was reading about Chappie yesterday - when it flopped, the director went into a 6-7 year sulk and only made short films during that time. His big comeback is Gran Turismo, based on the story of a gamer that became a real car racer. Sounds shite, but might give it a chance.

Talking of Marvels (I’ve actually forgotten what the thread is about!) Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 3 are great films. Deadpool too, never tire of that.

Eh? Chappie never flopped, that was Elysium which came after and he admitted he made an arse of.

Curious to see if Emila Hartford can act, will see in Gran Turismo.

Pop culture you say?

Crazy Stupid Love

Easy A

Pitch Perfect.

The Devil Wears Prada

You probs need a daughter or a partner as cover (maybe you don't?) but these are all really sharp, funny-witty, popcorn movies.

Oh, ok. That wasn't how I read it. (Elysium: 2013 ; Chappie: 2015, but I'll take your word for it)
Elysium is on TV tonight - 5Star channel I think.
