[Closed] Mobile phone advise - are any simple, robust & reliable?

A mind-boggling array of features seem to be available, and sod all of them to do with what I want from a mobile phone - namely, receive and make calls, receive and send texts and access voicemails.

I don't want Internet access, social networking or even a camera or the plethora of other things that what used to be mobile phones have become. Just about the only advance I'd want from my first Nokia is a colour screen!

I like the older Nokias but even they seem to be only complicated and liable to throw a hissy fit at the rough and tumble of urban life.

So, any recommendations?

I've got a Nokia 6303 that I use when out on the bike etc. Great phone if all you want is calls and texts. Its got a metal body so its pretty robust. I've bounced mine of all kinds of stuff by accident and its still fine. If you're not interested in smart phones then this is one to seriously look at

Definitely an old Nokia, my money would go on a 6021
Small enough, battery life measured in days, it doesn't do anything other than make and take calls and texts

Nokia 5140 or 5200, or if you can't find one of those the Nokia 1664 (I think) is their 'rugged' phone at the moment.

And Samsung do a 'rugged' basic phone for about £20 SIM free in ASDA.

All of our field technicians use these

Never had a complaint about them, or even a one break. Been in service for over 2 years.
