Did you get time off for good behaviour?

You've done a terrific job in an impossible role. Think you've earned the retirement.

Enjoy not having to read all those posts and having more time to explore your new real life, and the complexities of the local street furniture.

Hope you get more cycling in and keep watching for those virtual frozen sausages.

Now you can get rocking!

Id like to thank you cougar for placing me on the naughty step a couple of times when I was having difficulties on here and needed some self-imposed timeouts.

And I think I only ever had to report you to the mods once... 🤪😂🤣

No doubt, you never seemed to wear the cap comfortably. Which made you ideal for the job. I guess some would absolutely revel in it.

you had a very fair stick. Some I think, even looked for it being raised.

No point flattering him now.

Hell, that was one of my prerequisites when I took the gig in the first place.

It hasn't been quite that bad. 🙂

The power vacuum means one thing, granny porn is a go.

I'll put myself forward on a manifesto of more granny porn per thread. Bi-monthly witch hunts/community voted banning of a single member, can't be voted out two terms in a row! Annual award for most unwarranted, inappropriate and offensive use of language. Flounce of the year etc...

Is bi-monthly twice a month or once every two months? I never quite got my head around that.

The power vacuum

There can be only one man for this role.

Can you imagine having Trump as a forum mod?!😁

Listen boy there's a new sheriff in town. The days of you bowling round here like billy big bollocks, flashing your rusty badge, with your "questions" and appeals for clarification are over.

You'll do well to remember, when the votes come, your name could be the only one on the ballot for as long as I see fit.

You seem to have removed the moderate element from moderator. You have perhaps confused the term/role with dictator? 🤔

Good.

To be perfectly frank, I'm just glad that this thread didn't close with the last post being Agent Orange.

I quite like the new gloves off Cougar on the Brexit thred, can't be long before a ban. My suggestions for vacant post are Teasel, Don Simon and Woppit.

Ta, Cougar, you wore it well.

Why? I've not broken any forum rules. Oddly enough, I'm fairly familiar with them.

I've spent ten years learning from absolute masters how to walk just the right side of that particular knife edge. (-:

(Oh, and thank you.)

Believe me you don't have to break forum rules to get a ban or even "troll"/"reformed troll" next to your pseudo for a few years. You just need to be right about the wrong thing.

Wouldn't happen today.

Largely because they can't (trivially), it's part of a module scheduled for a future version.

your only the other side of the ridge to Pendle – have you had a tour of the cheeky yet?

See, I understand all those words in isolation, but I don't have the faintest notion what you're talking about. What's "the cheeky" when it's at home?

So you are not very far from Pendle Hill and there is much good riding to be had but mostly not on bridleways

Well, I for one can't understand the sentiment on this thread. For years it's been clear that Cougar was a power-crazed, self-obsessed, narcisist, who saw his 'power' (as pathetic as regarding such a thing as power is) as a moderator as a means to perpetuate his petty jealousies and protect the STW elite from any criticism of their third-rate website, rather than promote open, constructive debate.

I'm glad to see the back of him, and he can take his magic iPad with him.

A sincere 'thank you' from me for the work you put in over the years. Much of the success of this forum is down to you and your colleagues, and it is something that has benefitted me immensely over time.

Cheers!

Most internet forums are a bit like this:

ask-a-total-****-from-an-internet-forum-volume-10/

This place generally isn't. Despite the odd, flounce, strop or ban hammer its actually a really civil place and I think of lot of this is down to how its moderated.

So thanks Cougar for your efforts. And thanks to the other mods, known and unknown for their efforts too.

+1 😀

Despite the odd, flounce, strop or ban

Having given it some consideration I think the comma after ‘odd’ is most likely intended to be there
