I drive a 2008 110 vito at work,75,000 miles with no problems, the antiroll bar rubbers are starting to go but its not an expensive fix. 😉

We run them at work - the early new shaped ones were utter shiite but the latest ones seem to have the niggles fixed, they're a handfull on the ice though 😯

I was looking at a Sport but probably won't happen now 😥

Would have made a good biking vehicle.

Gavgas 2008 models are 111 or 109, 110 were only available in the mark 1 versions.

Rust is a big problem on all of them, the latest ones are better for it but they suffer from it a lot more than any other van I've seen. Interior quality is ok, funny automatic style foot applied, lever release handbrake that some people just can't get on with. I've had several vans but my one of these only lasted 3 months, pretty unpleasant to drive, noisy, thirsty and not a patch on a transporter or trafic/vivaro.

I have driven just about all the SWB type vans (Transit,Vito,Vivaro,Scudo)and drive a Transporter at the moment,IMO the Vivaro is the best of them, trafic/Nissan version seem to come with best spec.

just get a small sprinter. the 208 size ones are really nimble (the lock is nearly 90degrees) and quick and best of all they are built like trucks not cars so even when you stupidly havent set the hand-brake and your dog knocks it out of gear and it rolls down the field your working in past you at 30mph and head-on into a tree, knocking the 30ft ash tree over, you can still drive home (although you will have to stop 5 or 6 times to re-fill the radiator)

I run a 2000 110 cdi auto.

The injectors welded themselves in, had to be done. The speedo went wrong, had it replaced 1500 euro. The anti roll bar bushings need replacing as it rattles like crazy over stuff.

I live in a relatively dry place but rust is still an issue(above sliding doors).

Other than this I really like my Vito, it's high mileage now and still keeps clogging on.

My mate drives his mk1 with a 2.3l petrol engine (not sure but reckon he swapped the original one) and loves it. Couple of thousand miles a month at least for the last 3 years. Never had any problems.
Having said that he owns a garage which helps a bit.

Rob how many times will you ask this question about a vito or T4/5 before you realise with your budget it is either bite the bullet on an Hiace or a transit?

Trafic/Vivaro is what I'm currently being recommended. Just trying to decide on seating layout and specification so I can get the conversion done to my satisfaction.
